Of course we worried about that. Her staff person told me that as long as we have it delivered via a florist instead of UPS or another mail service, it will be okay. The florist will walk into the building with the flowers, go through the x-ray machine, and bring them to Boxer's office. I'll call Stubbs-Jones office in the morning, but I imagine it will be the same as at the Hart building.

P.S. Besides, I'm allocating monthly for tsunami relief, which will be an ongoing rescue situation. Even when people have homes and food, they will need help to deal with the loss of loved ones.

P.P.S. We need to carrot-and-stick our politicians into the sort of people who will respond to such horrible things as tsunamis. Apparently, we're almost starting over. This is "insurance" for the next tsunami. I want my country back.

I had hoped to get these flowers to the congresspeople asap after the vote to thank them. Many seem to want to wait until we raise enough for all 32 yes voters to receive flowers. The congresspeople are now in their home states until Jan 20. Another possibility might be to have them delivered on Jan 20. The delivery in the House would be a mass one, to 32 members--red, white, and blue bouquets (they are beautiful, not tacky). If we have enough $$, we could send extra to Boxer to make a bigger impression. We get the media to cover the deliveries--a beautiful, patriotic photo op? What do you guys think? Anyone have media contacts in DC?
