Rumsfeld's strange Christmas Eve statement...

No doubt a statement like this was posted on DU on December 24th but for those of us away from computers for the last several days, I'll post it here again:

Wasn't the wreckage scattered over several miles? Interesting isn't it that Rummy would make that slip.

7. Here's my take on it. I believe that we probably did shoot down

that plane.

And I actually never saw any debris of the wreckage. All I remember seeing was the hole in the ground and no sign of debris. I think that the people on that plane whose voices were heard, the guy who said, "Let's roll," actually had intentions of overtaking the hi-jackers. But the military shot down the plane.

However, they thought that the American public would be in such hysterics over our having shot down a commercial plane, that they did a "Jessica-Lynch-type" media concoction. They made folk heroes out of the "Let's roll" people (and they undoubtedly were true heroes). Rumsfeld made a slip. The real truth will never come out because they don't trust the masses to be able to tolerate the truth.

9. Why shoot the plane down?

I don't know if anyone else has thought of this yet, but seems like at least a few tin-foilers have. This just popped into my head reading this post.

If it is true that the plane over Penn. WAS shot down, then the next logical question is why. Well, the obvious answer is because the hijackers were going to crash it into some building in Washington D.C. But there could be another reason to shoot it down. I'm playing what if here and I don't necessarily subscribe to this view but...

What if the passengers on that plane had really overpowered the hijackers and regained control of the aircraft? A remote possibility I know, not many people can fly a large plane like that. If that is true, then what reason would exist to shoot down the plane? Well, control of the plane was re-gained by the passengers, the it would be safe to assume that one or more of the hijackers was still alive. A live hijacker would have a lot of interesting things to say, lots of beans to spill. Could it be that the higher-ups in our government didn't want those beans spilled?

10. That it wasnt shot down never enter my mind.

Orders were given to shoot down anything flying the only thing Rummy ever did right. I dont think it was a slip though. Rummy is just telling is enemeys to back off.
