What were the turnout numbers in Iowa tonight?
I know it was a big turnout but I can't find an article posted that mentions it and have not heard the numbers mentioned on the air yet.

Anybody have any final figures on how many turned out for the caucuses in Iowa? I did hear it was supposed to be a larger than usual turnout.

5. That's what they said on Nightline
It was double the 2000 turnout. That's great news! I am not sure if I got the figure right, but I think they said 45% of the participants were first timers.

9. WOW! Double the 2000 caucus and 45% were first timers
I read further down in the thread this was a record turnout for Iowa.

Let's hope the trend holds through the rest of the primary and into next November election. I think a big turnout would favor Democrats.

6. MSNBC reported it as 125K
Which I believe would be a record.

7. Great News

All Democrats should be thrilled at the number of participants in the caucuses. More than anything I've heard tonight this is great news. We need to have heavy turnouts to show the republicans we are coming to take the White House back.
