C-Span "Can liberals be trusted on national security?"....OMG the BS
Edited on Mon Dec-13-04 08:01 AM by GingerSnaps
Can you believe the BS questions C-Span is asking?

Right wing callers are blaming Clinton and one jackass just called in and said that who would you prefer to walk down an alley with a repug or a democrat. What does politics have to do with someone defending them self in a fight?

A Repub would be a smart ass jerk, make the situation 10 times worse, than run like a little baby just the way blowhard cowards always do.

The ones who have been beating the wardrums all along are the ones would have never served--and would never serve. To them, service is for suckers.

(Which must make for some interesting conversations between Poppy and Li'l Dubbie.)

General: "There's no way to survive this!"
Mansley: "You mean we're all going--"
General: "--To DIE, Mansley. For our country!"
Mansley: "Screw our country! I WANT TO LIVE!"

That their mouth doesn't count as serving in the military. Poor Rush had a disability and he couldn't serve in the military because his boil was infested. :D

17. I feel sad for people like Peter B ...
Within the span of a decade, folks like him will find themselves even more devastated and disillusioned than us MoveOn.org type liberals he's attempting to ostracize.

One key lesson that I've learned from my right wing (secular) libertarian family members - that they hold ZERO respect for those who try to accommodate their cause in the hope of getting the left-over scraps from their powerful Alpha-male brothers.

The RW of the republican party will eat those "suck-ups to power" liberals alive. Think of the lowest ranking member in the wolf pack ... exactly - that will be Peter B's followers being constantly screwed and the brunt of even more disgusting jokes.

The RW actually, deep down has a hell of a lot more respect for MoveOn.org than the DLC. Because staunch RW folks literally hate ANY sign of appeasement ... when people like Peter B. shows the Democrat's soft underbelly, that's just a sign to promptly GUT the opponent. We've seen it happen over and over to our Senate and House of Representatives over the past decade, yet our party still "does NOT get it."

I submit, it's the civil but hard-core scrappers in the spirit of Paul Wellstone ... the people and their politicians who are truly "The Democratic Wing of the Democratic Party" who will prevail in the long run ... because we're not afraid to stand-up and speak truth to power.

WHO was warned by the Clinton administration and by his own administration, and WHO IGNORED those warnings???

WHO was the president when 911 happened???

WHICH PARTY did said president belong to???

911 HAPPENED UNDER REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT BUSH. BUSH'S OWN ADMINISTRATION REPORTS SAY BUSH HAS MADE US LESS SAFE AND TERRORISM HAS INCREASED UNDER BUSH. HOW CAN WE EVER TRUST REPUBLICANS ON NATIONAL SECURITY WHEN 911 HAPPENED UNDER REPUBLICANS???

16. I sat there and listened to that foolishness
Feeling as if I was living in a parallel universe. It seems like people cannot even remember to last week when an American target was hit in Saudi Arabia. I'll even give them the benefit of the doubt and say that *was* kind of a long time ago and then ask them to remember yesterday when 8 Marines were killed in Iraq (only six people died in the first World Trade Center bombing).

The New Republic or the Neo-Republicans want us to all jump on the Pax Americana bandwagon and there's no room on it for people who actually love America and feel the American policy in the Middle East is completely flawed.

22. Yet when Cynthia McKinney asks a question
Edited on Mon Dec-13-04 10:11 AM by suegeo
about Bush culpability in the Sept. 01 attacks, the right comes down on her hard and she loses her seat in Congress.

Whenever anybody on the T.V. asked if Bush could have/ would have stopped the attacks in Sept. 01, the right came down on them hard, calling into question their patriotism, character and sanity.

Now, when the rightwing is blaming the attacks / poor defense on Clinton (even tho they occurred after he was out of office for months), the left sits relatively mute.

The double standard is breath taking.

27. Every day I think that I have heard it all & then the next day
The callers are even more outrageous. The host never questions them on their comments and they are allowed to omit * from having anything to have taken place on his unelected watch.

* has torn our country and this world apart by starting the war for oil. We will be reaping what he has sowed for years. Matter of fact even after we are dead this country will still be going through * war on oil from the descendants of the people that were killed.

Think about the North and the South. How many years ago was the civil war fought and I believe when I was a kid there was still animosity to a certain extent.

31. Better question: are Republicans in bed with the military and ...
soldiers of fortune, in order to create an artificial and exaggerated need for all three of their high priced yet poorly performed services?

What is this special relationship that Republicans have, especially during the past 25 years, with the military establishment?

Remember when G. H. W. Bush lost to Clinton and we watched the inauguration only to hear the Republican Revolutionary political commentators tell us of the fact that we can still have a "peaceful transfer of power" in the United States? What did they mean by those comments, and how should Americans be receiving those comments during their presidential inauguration? What made a peaceful transfer of power a news item, when it should be a given in a Democracy? WTF
