Someone asked if big brother is watching...
chat rooms and forums. Here's your answer. Our Gov't are the real conspiracy theorists, but I suppose it is necessary since 911. I just wonder what the standard is going to be for judging whether something someone writes is worrisome or not!

1. We are talking in a glass box with holes to the CIA and FBI.
I periodically remind DU-ers who forget the lack of privacy here that the internet will be allowed as long as it is useful to identify us and listen to everything we say to each other.

As soon as the internet is a REAL THREAT to the power structure, they will shut it down for security purposes. Calls for mass strikes against this White House will probably lead to suppressing sites like this one when big money is at stake. The Beast won't let itself be starved before it protects itself from democratic coordination.

'Saving children from online porn' is the inroad for regulating the drums of the revolution and insulating the next generation of soldiers and worker drones from understanding their roles in the machine.

"The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way, and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theatre."
~ Frank Zappa, 1977

"No truly sophisticated proponent of repression would be stupid enough to shatter the facade of democratic institutions."
Murray B. Levin, Friendly Fascism

3. That reminds me of a conversation I had on Thanksgiving
with my cousin, who is a Bush supporter. He told me that he was planning on becoming a Big Brother, since he is single and doesn't have any kids. Personally, I think it is a good thing.

But, when he told me, he phrased it as "I am thinking of joining Big Brother". So I replied, "Yeah, I already knew you voted for Bush."

4. Does he
have enough brain power to operate machinery? I know he's your cousin and believe me I have one of these people in my family too, but the guy in my family doesn't know the difference between generic and organic! I wouldn't want him to misinterpret something he read and report someone to the Secret Service for using a word he didn't understand, you know?

5. No, I think probably a bunch of rather perverted white males seem
to be invading people's privacy illegally, including mine*, however with the implementation of the Patriot Act, well, all kinds of illegalities become both accepted and welcomed!

If you'll excuse me, there are certainly females and other race and culture classifications that might be engaging is such *Big Brother* behavior, but its primarily the former who seems to be leading the pack.
