Am I crazy in thinking that the Bush/secret service incident
makes his security team look like shit?

Why would I want to have someone who is supposed to protect me look to ME for protection?

4. Every Day, he is pounding more nails into America's coffin!
This asshole needs to be reminded that James Buchannan only lost 11 states to secession.

He is well on the way to losing all 20 PLUS the District of Columbia.

This country will NOT survive another 4 years of such incompetent misrule.

What will this ass do when there is NO California, Illinois, New York or Pennsylvania and they have been absorbed by Canada?

What will he do when America falls from the #1 economic power to #9 if all the blue states leave and make Canada #1?

12. On a side note, if CA, IL, NY and PN go to Canada,
the U.S. will probably pick up Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta in a trade. ("Red Provinces").

5. I don't think you are crazy
Obviously Bush thought he would take over in Chile, seeing that he thinks he is the greatest in the world and no one can refute that.

I think that Chile was establishing it was their countryo,he was a guest and subject to their rules, and it would not be intimidated by the paranoia of a man whose very life is in danger, because of his own policies.

Chile was not about to succumb to the bravado and bullying of Bush.

He, of course, will not learn a thing--but will seek get revenge in some way or another on Chile.

From the photos I saw, it did not look as if Bush had a good time in his irrational egotism--it looked like he was subltly put in his place at which time he resorted to clowning, which is his way of making fun of the people or the nation. Additionally, Laura looked totally dorky, tense and somewhat sourfaced, as she did at the Clinton library event.

7. It really shocks me that diplomats that go overseas aren't better
trained or educated. I knew someone from school who was the daughter of someone high up in sports. She got a job as an assistant for a politician and found herself in a latin American country. This was 20 years ago. She came back complaining that no one in the airport spoke English and this is what passed for humor back then.

That's what I learned about the kids of wealthy people. For all their money, they are very ignorant about foreign matters. Doesn't really compute.

10. You're not crazy, but you're wrong
This wasn't about his agents needing protection. This was a diplomatic snafu that probably could not have been avoided - it happens all the time on international trips and likely was the result of a misunderstanding about which and how many agents were to go into the room with the president. Normally, this is worked out amongst the U.S. and Chilean agents, but it looks like tempers flared and Bush simply reached in and said, "He's coming in with me." At that point, no one on the Chilean side was going to say no.

What made this unusual was that Bush got involved. But it's really not that big of a deal nor is it all that uncommon.

14. Agreed, it wasn't that big
of a deal, however Faux News is replaying the incident like Bush is some freakin tough guy getting into the middle of a scuffle to save the agent.

15. Jeez!
Of course that's not what happened, but why do facts matter when they can make him look like he's rescuing the guys who are supposed to protect him.

What a big, brave man he is . . .

All for saying, "No, that guy's with me. Let him in."

16. It makes his security team look like a bunch of mafiosi thugs.
No wonder Chile backed out of the state dinner: it was going have all the diplomatic charm of dining with Al Capone, wondering all the while if anyone was going to beat your brains out with a baseball bat.
