Maddie? as compared to Condi? please discuss
Madam Albright managed to deal with some massive changes in the world, she maintained America's respect, while dealing with domestic attacks. As SecStates go, she ruffled some feathers, but most of the world not only appreciated her, they appreciated her president. She had no qualms about telling Bill "No."

Missy two shoes Rice has managed to ingratiate herself into the brain processes of her fellow sports fanatic, the current president. She studied the USSR. She wrote a paper on the USSR. She has a boat named after her, by the same moneyed powers that put Bush into office. She had a spotty, if not failed, stint as NatSec Adviser to the same president. She ignored the warnings leading up to 9/11. She forgot to think through the cost of improper preparation and planning for the Iraqi invasion. She failed to ever study the Israeli-Palestinian problem. She ignored how Islam directs much of what goes on in the middle east, and therefore in the world. Worst of all she "tutored" Bush in his entire understanding of the world.

So, 20 yrs from now, who will be judged the better Sec of State?

1. Can we wait until Rice has been confirmed by the Senate?
Performance comparisions are a bit premature at this point.

Nevertheless, I predict that Condi will have serious struggles in her job.

Look at the wet noodles for spines leading our party at the moment. Do you
honestly think that any of them will give her any trouble, much less raking her over the coals?

A black female, who manages not to answer questions she finds difficult or offensive. not to be racist, but I don't see any senator getting into it with her.
Albright, on the other hand, answered (and dazzled) the committee with her knowledge, her plans and her maturity. She also managed to say, "I don't know, but I will find out."

THAT one admission made me admire her ever since.

2. Albright was intelligent and tough and a good diplomat
Rice is apparently intelligent (?) and tough, but she has no diplomatic skills. I listened to her testimony to the 9/11 Commission. She whined and complained and stonewalled and finally, grudgingly, when they backed her into a corner, told the truth about one or two things. What a pathetic performance. Only a moran as big as the chimp would have kept her on the job after that.

Rice will try to push other countries around but I suspect that they will cut her off at the knees. She has no idea how to handle diplomacy. She'll be a disaster. Chimpy and his followers won't even notice.

Every day is opposite day for the chimp administration.
