When Democrats introduce Jesus Christ as their next candidate
The chair recognizes Tom Delay
"Mr. Chairman I thank you and the members of this special joint meeting and move that the democratic candidate allegedly named HeySoose Christ is ineligible to run for President". First of all he is not a real person. And if records do indicate he is even alive, he is not a naturalized citizen of the United States."
Point of order Mr. Chairman, my aids have informed me the sun has turned red and is traveling back wards in the sky!."
Over ruled Mr. Schumer. You may continue Mr. Delay.
"thank you Mr. Chairman, I would like to extend three minutes of my time to Mr. Trent Lott and reserve the right to extend and revise my remarks."
So granted.
Thank you Mr. Delay, I for one find it reprehensible that the Democrats would stoop so low as to drag Christianity in the mud like this with an imposter...this is sheer blasphemy and I intend to
Mr. Chairman Point of Order
Yes Senator Clinton?
It was reported on CNN that it is raining frogs in DC and people are turning into pillars of salt...
Over ruled, please continue Mr. Lott.
"Thanking the chair could I please have time restored because of that interruption?
Yes, add 3 minutes to Mr. Lotts time.
as I was saying I intend to investigate this homeless person in sandals with uncut hair who allegedly associates with prostitutes and expose him as the fraud he is and prosecute him to the furthest extent of the law.
A voice is heard from the gallery Judge not lest ye be judged.
Remove that person from the Gallery

MR CHAIRMAN
Yes Mr. Cheney
There is an unidentified airplane with a Kentucky Governor aboard that has entered Maryland airspace.
I believe we should
EVACUATE THE BUILDING AND RUN FOR YOUR undisclosed locations.

3. To funny
We have an open window to embrace religion and get back our faith based drive to make government work for those less fortunate. Hope we take it.

8. I find the connection between Christ and torture to be reprehensible.
I really do try to be a good sport, but this image is way over the top. I see no humor in it at all, and it serves the religious-bashers rather than the ultra-right fundies.

Would you approve of an image of a famous Jewish person impersonating a Nazi? Or a Black person whipping a slave?

12. dear #8
An artist will often use the impossible ironic metaphor to describe an hypocrisy so over the top that no words could ever suffice.

When the US hit the top of the torture charts I did a number of grapics that make the above pic seem pastoral. Would I post them now in this context...? Well, Only if asked.
........

The first post was a small edited blurb from a larger piece I wrote in the style of the famous radio play "The Investigator".

I should release the mp3 annonymously around Christmas.
I have yet to cast the voice actors.

I you are in the DC area and want a part to read, let me know.

14. when does satire cross the line into bigotry?
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 11:20 PM by RevCheesehead
and why is it that religion, in particular, Christianity, is "fair game?"

People around here got flamed and tombstoned for positing anti-south and anti-red states stuff. (ie, "fuckthesouth.com"). And I'm supposed to just sit and let it pass because it's so over the top??

Believe me, I am NOT a prude. I can, in fact, be quite crude. But this particular image stirs up in me an incredible feeling of dismay and betrayal. The images of Abu Ghraib are beyond pale, and despicable to the core. To superimpose Jesus' face on it makes me physically ill.

I'm just sharing my perspective, as a Christian and a Democrat.

9. You know what the Republicans would do?
They would start running ads by the 'Fishing Boat Veterans' to discredit the whole walking on water and loaves and fishes stunt.

10. you're probably right! LOL!
(The topic of this thread does NOT offend me. But the picture of Jesus as a torturer at Abu Ghraib does.)

They'd probably claim that Jesus knew where the rocks were.
