8. I find the connection between Christ and torture to be reprehensible.

I really do try to be a good sport, but this image is way over the top. I see no humor in it at all, and it serves the religious-bashers rather than the ultra-right fundies.

Would you approve of an image of a famous Jewish person impersonating a Nazi? Or a Black person whipping a slave?

An artist will often use the impossible ironic metaphor to describe an hypocrisy so over the top that no words could ever suffice.

When the US hit the top of the torture charts I did a number of grapics that make the above pic seem pastoral. Would I post them now in this context...? Well, Only if asked.

and why is it that religion, in particular, Christianity, is "fair game?"

People around here got flamed and tombstoned for positing anti-south and anti-red states stuff. (ie, "fuckthesouth.com"). And I'm supposed to just sit and let it pass because it's so over the top??

Believe me, I am NOT a prude. I can, in fact, be quite crude. But this particular image stirs up in me an incredible feeling of dismay and betrayal. The images of Abu Ghraib are beyond pale, and despicable to the core. To superimpose Jesus' face on it makes me physically ill.

I'm just sharing my perspective, as a Christian and a Democrat.
