Religious Right Puts Republicans In A Tight Spot!!!!
I have noticed a concerted effort on the Sunday Morning Political Shows by Democrats to bring up the Religious Right and Bob Jones University at every possible opportunity. I think this is a great strategy and one we should have used before the election. Why? Because take a look at how Republicans react when the connection is made! They completely distance themselves, and when they do they basically loose everything they worked to do to get the Religious Right to come out and vote for them.

Basically it seems the strategy for the next four years will be to paint Bob Jones University and Pat Robertson as best friends with Bush and the Republicans. They have two choices. Embrace the connection and loose Independents and moderate Republicans or Distance themselves and loose their base! Well, third is to say something like the Republican Party has a big tent but the Religious Right wants the tent all to themselves.

Not a good position for the Republicans to be in!

1. Yup.
That is how you throw a spaniard into their works. You hoist them on their own petard.

5. Ask Bob Novack, no really
he wrote before the election that the GOP was screwed if they won, because of the Religious Right and how that would really hurt the moderates, and they were screwed if they lost becuse of the religious right which the moderates want to expell from the party (or at the very least reduce in influence)

One of the few times that no facts actually spoke the facts

4. YES!!! Voters thought Gays are a threat to their way of life - but.....
Edited on Sun Nov-14-04 04:47 PM by TwentyFive
...little do they know the biggest threat ever is when the fundies get to decide what movies they are allowed to see,

...or alcohol is outlawed
...sex education is kept from their kids
...or 'creationism science' is taught
...or what happens when their 18 year old daughter is raped - but can't get an abortion.

Gay marriage will seem kind of quaint!

10. I'm not sure we have to do anything....
they'll do it to themselves. They're turning the Specter thing into a public spectacle of purity testing.... and I don't think a single Dem has weighed in or has to at this point. Let them eat themselves.

11. Let's Not Neglect the Rev. Sun Myung Moon Either!
There may be some collateral damage to certain Democrats, but this is war. The Democrats will be stronger in the long run by outing certain congress-critters who feed from Moon's trough. The damage to Repugs - * included - and fundie televangelists will be greater by exposing those connections to this messiah-wannabee.

14. For sure the Repubs have trapped themselves in a corner
and it is our job to keep them there. We should immediately start associating Repub Senators up for reelection in 2006 with these fundamentalist slime-balls. They want nothing to do with them but can't win without them. This is going to be fun !!!!!!!!!!!

13. The Faux news sponsored: Republican Loyalty Oath
Political Celebrity Death Match. The new reality TV. Tinky Winky will be baptized by Reverend Falwell, Bill O'Reilly will become the 1st wannabeAnchor Monk, * is already parting the Red Sea with his FP screwups and Three Stooges Cabinet. The farcial and satirical comedy alone provided by these (a)moral jerks is too much!

17. With Rev Moon I visualize a circus strong man 'diamond'
Moon is at the bottom holding up a board with Falwell, Bennett, Robertson, Jones prez, Dobson, and some other radical ones standing on the board. They, in turn are holding up their leader - the one selected by God to lead the country and get the Constitution and Bill of Rights changed to conform to triumph our conversion.

18. That would be a great graphic. Put in Tim LaHaye for Bennett.
It's true that Sun Myung Moon has funded most of these characters over the last 3 decades.

22. Karl Rove is now back tracking saying "Values" question was not asked
four years ago so it probably always has been a big issue. The bastards are trying to slime their way out of the Moral Values Corner.
