I would like to thank....
Everyon for the overwhelming response I got on my recent thread. I am still trying to answer everyone's questions so please don't feel left out if I haven't gotten to you yet. I decided to post this on another thread to make sure everyone would read this. Thanks again and I really do appreciate the support.

1. lol JJ the threads move fast don't they? that is part of the reason
the admins have changed the whole layout

give us a couple weeks to settle down and then find your favorites and it will be a whole new ballgame

2. For those who don't know?
Where's the original thread? I'm dying to see it. "Overwhelming response"? What was it about? I have to see it, where is it? Not that I mean to take you away from answering the questions on the first thread, because I know that's your major priority, but for those of us who weren't around for the first thread, can you let us in? Or at least let us know what it's all about?

Thanks.

5. By the way, John, I had an experience similar to yours.
Not unlike you, I went into the military a right-winger and came out a socialist. In other words, being in the Navy had exactly the opposite effect on me than it was supposed to have! Go figure.

8. What is your take on 'civilian contractors'
I am somewhat curious about these contractors and even more curious about the 'volunters' from South Africa, Chili and Latin America. Has the Army become a mercenary army?

BTW, what are you doing up at 2am?

10. civillian contracters is nothing new
I never really cared for them being there but to be honest it is kind of nice to be able to talk to them on occasion and I am in California and it is just after midnight. Why are you up so late? :)

11. Obsessed with this bull going on
Have been since 9-11. My daily sleeping pattern is screwed-up, has been for several years. Sleep 4 hours in early evening then 2-3 hours mid morning. Thats why I am up at this ungodly hour. Should be sleeping, but..

That Bush really pisses me off, and how he is getting a free pass on all the screw-ups him and his Adm has gotten away with.

Anyway, welcome to DU. I am sure you will be an asset with a good perspective toward what our country really needs to pass through these troubling times.

12. want some advice?
Take a break now and then it will make you feel better go have some fun the world will not end if you are not on the job 24/7. There are enough of us doing whatever we can to fight bushie so there is time for us all to relax now and then.

'Take a break' didn't work out so well.

13. Just a question: What was it that first caused you to question the war?
I'm just curious; that's all.

I'm glad for your service to your country, and I'm happy you came home alive. I hope your friends there make it out okay as well. I've been hearing places like Walter Reed and Bethesda are receiving casualties all the time coming home from Iraq.

15. Yes - please discuss this when you have finished answering all the
other people you're getting back to. (You're so nice to post this thank-you thread, but now you've got more responding to do. I guess "no good deed goes unpunished" - just kidding!) Actually, I saw your original thread, but I'm glad you posted this since so many DUers did not see it.

Anyway, it would be interesting to know what kinds of things stopped making sense to you about the war. Maybe there's something in it that can be transferred to those who aren't over there fighting but who could also begin thinking for themselves about just how corrupt this administration is.

God bless you for all you've done and for what you're doing!

18. The whole thing didn't make sense
what really got me was we were going after chemical weapons and you probably saw on TV we didn't go in wearing all of our NBC gear. (nbc gear is chemical suits, masks ect).

17. I starting questioning this
war right at the beginning I didn't believe that Saddam had anything to do with 9-11.
