Update on Cheney from FAUX -- something's fishy.
"He's in his street clothes, he's walking around to get this test and that test. EVERYTHING IS NORMAL. EVERYTHING IS NORMAL. EVERYTHING IS NORMAL. He's had an EKG and a readout of his implanted pacemaker. EVERYTHING IS NORMAL."

4. here's why this is fishy
NO cardiac patient walks from room to room for tests. Someone with shortness of breath rides in a wheelchair. And all the tests are done at the bedside. The patient doesn't walk TO them.

A bunch of bull.

9. Last time I was in the hospital --my friend was there
She had tests done and was wheeled from room to room. I think it is hospital policy that EVERYONE in the hospital (who are not visiting) are wheeled from place to place.

14. Yep
I work in a hospital, and one puts on a gown when a patient there. I had to go to the ER to have my figer sewn up, and guess what? I had to put on a gown. If CrashCart is there, he's got a fucking gown on, not to mention that he has definitely had a 12-lead EKG, so he would need to disrobe at least his upper extremities.

31. were these scheduled outpatient tests?
or were you admitted on an "emergency" basis and then sent for tests.

Different circumstances. You're right. If you have scheduled outpatient tests, MRI's, etc. at a hospital, you just walk around.

Just passing on my experience....

Didn't realize there was a difference....

Although, when I was in hospital early last summer, they wheeled me around or came to my room.....

I was in for 33 days, missed the death of RR.......

5. My EXACT thoughts
Immediately sprang to mind: well, we've become so much like the old Soviet Union in its worst days that I have to wonder what this "cold" REALLY means. It used to mean Soviet leaders were DEAD (or perhaps just dying).

If you were working in GW Hospital, would you want Cheney lumbering around in a hospital garment, his fat ass wobbling in the wind?

17. sounds like they're buying some time to me
...and I definitely think he's worse than they're saying. What's being done at the hospital could have been done at his house. They have the capability with him all the time to do twelve-lead ECGs.

16. Pacemakers are interrogated
only when there's been a problem. Whatever is going on, if they've had to interrogate the pacemaker, something is wrong.

To tell the truth, I'm amazed he's lasted this long in office. He's not a well man (understatement of the year). I sincerely doubt he'll make it through another four years in office.

The only mystery is which wingnut Idiot will have around to be his VP and guide after Cheney goes.

19. a new update
The motorcade cars have had their motors running the whole time Cheney has been in the hospital. FAUX reporter just said so. Why would that be? Is that standard protocol in case of an attack on him? Or is it meant to show this is a temporary visit? A doctor (not HIS doctor) just said that he probably would be spending the night there. So are they going to keep the motors running all night?

27. Ain't gonna happen
Cheney will not be in office for the entire 4 years. The leg-up of encumbency is too much of an edge to let it go by. Whoever is named to replace Satanspawn is the heir appartent even with all of the strings showing.

I admit this is a wee bit early for the switch. I figured 2006. Nevertheless, Cheney is a very, very, very, sick man; and I don't just mean mentally. The regime of radical clerics never has released his medical records.

Looking at Frist or Racicot.

26. Two thoughts/comments.
First, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Second, everywhere Cheney goes he is followed around by an ambulance. Everywhere. Doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling about his health at any time.

It's hard to say what's the scarier thought, that Cheney is actually running the country, or that he kicks the bucket and some unelected someone else takes over.
