My gloating, beaming ultra-conservative uncle doesn't even seem to know his own kind.
For some background, this man is crazy; he doesn't let his children read Harry Potter books because he thinks they promote witchcraft and satanism, he made his wife quit her high-paying executive job once they got married, and home schools his children so they won't be exposed to the evil outside world, he doesn't even trust them in a catholic school.
Back to today, he was talking about all the republicans who might run in 2008, and kept saying "You know, they say Giuliani, he's got a lot of potential for 2008, or hey, maybe even Schwarzenegger."
Then I told him, "Umm, I don't think the GOP would ever nominate a pro-choice, pro-gay rights candidate, now that the religious right has laid claim to their party."
and he was like "What do you mean? Giuliani and Schwarzenegger aren't pro-choice or pro-gay, they're very conservative."
"Oooooh yes they are, and oh nooooo they aren't", I told him.
"Well we'll see if they don't come around by 2008."
so I just ended it by going "Hmm, can anyone say FLIP FLOP...FLIIIIIIP FLOOOOP.....FLIIIIIIIIIIIIIP FLOOOOOOOP."
He just turned away and started flipping channels on TV.
>>>So yea, these people don't even know the leaders in their own party, and worse yet, these 'values voters' seem to throw their values out the window when it's politically convenient.
