Does anyone remember CNN saying that a candidate in some type of race conceded and then ended up winning afterwords? It was during election night.

Those were the only ones that were really close.

Lynch upset Benson by maybe 13,000 votes in New Hampshire.

In Washington, our nominee Gregoire leads Rossi by 16,000 votes during a count of the absentee votes. It is expected to last two full weeks. Very similar to Mary Cantwell's comeback senate victory over Slade Gordon in 2000, which took a month although no one was paying attention due to Florida. Gregoire needs big numbers out of King County (Seattle) to hold off Rossi's edge in most of the small counties.

I really don't understand why no one pays attention to governors races here. That seemed to end with Jiacinto. We didn't do too bad this time, losing seats in Indiana and Missouri but taking over Montana and New Hampshire. Washington would be a hold, although Gregoire is not the incumbent. We have had the Washington gov chair for something like 40 years.

3. I remember that conversation

It was Larry King who brought it up. He looked beat and like he wanted to go home. He was asking why the states couldn't just be called. I think someone else (Wolf?) was indicating if Kerry conceded it would be over and Larry King brought up his example, seemed like someone disagreed then he explained it in detail. I don't remember the name.
