We don't have anyone, do we?
Who the hell do we have to represent our party? The only one that comes to mind is O Bama and how sad is it that he didn't start his first Senate term. Geeze, this is what happens after years of corporate invasion of our democratic system. We the people are left out feeling empty but everyone of these politic ans (from both sides) carry on smiling day after day rolling in all of the greed! We need a major major overhaul folks.:puke:

4. The only one I can think of with any balls AND charisma
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 10:00 PM by leftofthedial
(other than a few writers)

is Ron Reagan.

I'd support Kucinich for sure, but he can't even run as a Democrat. It will require either a MAJOR change to the Dems or the creation of a new party.

5. Wes Clark
has been representing us pretty well. I don't think we need just One leader. Why? Can't we just have a few?

10. I was one of the first people to support Clark
but he has made it clear he wants out of politics. I remember during the primaries how his wife was so reluctant for him to run. He was smeared endlessly by both sides. I don't think he will ever put his family thru that again and rightfully so.

Although he will always be at the top of the list for any future Dem. president for a cabinet position.

6. Who do the Republicans have?
Giuliani? Schwarzenegger?

It'll be interesting to see who develops as leaders of the Party. Dick Durbin and Obama come to mind. Like him or not, Harold Ford is another.

The fight for the Party will be worth watching.

8. A blast from the past...
Gary Hart.
He seemed to float up a trial ballon about the senate race in CO. He didn't run (maybe someone on here knows why).

Personal issues don't seem to rule people out anymore (sadly, in some cases). And he DOES love his country.

A great book by him called "Patriot" It's about taking back the political process.

Any hope? Wishful thinking?

sink like a lead balloon!

13. Wexler is great
Actually means it when he says count EVERY vote. I believe he was the one leading the fight for a paper trail. Pretty liberal though, don't think he could carry state. I think he would get creamed in Panhandle/fundie freak area

14. Rising Star: San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsome
He's kind of an establishment Democrat, but he could have broad appeal. Next stop for Newsome would be a run for the Senate, probably.

16. troubled marriage though
he's marriage to one of the anchors on CourtTV and I heard she has moved to NY. There is speculation that the marriage is on the rocks.

The rightwingers would have a field day with that one!

20. I wondered about a comment she made the other day on Court TV
She talked about all the hair styling devices she had all over her apartment. I couldn't understand why someone who was married to the mayor of San Francisco was living in an apartment. I hadn't heard about the marriage problems.

17. Dean
He doesn't have to run for president or anything. But I think he is great at getting the people to rally because he speaks from the heart and we can see it. If the DLC has to be torn down, I want him at the top when it is rebuilt.

19. It's interesting
to see all the discussion of who WOULD and WOULD NOT be a good choice. The, no he would not be able to win he's this or he's that and this one is better and more VIABLE than that one. Didn't this very same thing just occur in the primaries? How'd that work out again?

Oh yeah, the choice based on being a sure thing and ELECTABLE just conceeded the election.
