It arrived today, but evidently over the weekend in most of the country.
A 'free' (read taxpayers) DVD:

"U.S. Department of Labor's October Surprise
Back on September 14, 2003, we mentioned the absurdity of the BLS's taxpayer supported DVD "Up from Zero." We wondered aloud why the U.S. Department of Labor was making a documentary film on 9/11.
To quote the BLS site: "This film is the story of their patriotism, strength, and determination. I'm proud that the U.S. Department of Labor played a part in helping to tell it. I know you will be as inspired by their story as I am." -Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao
I wondered why the Department of Labor is now in the business of producing films, and giving away DVDs for free at taxpayer expense.
Well, since I paid for this (I'm a taxpayer) I ordered one back then, and now I know why.
The DVD conveniently arrived Saturday, October 30 -- 3 days before the election. Its content -- and even its packaging -- is a thinly veiled campaign commercial for the incumbent."---------
I haven't had the stomach to look at it yet... has anyone else?
TIMING???!!! Geez.
Since when do we pay for propaganda pieces for an incumbent administration election? Oh... nevermind.
