The only argument for bush that worked
was the (totally bogus) "don't change horses in midstream" argument. Most of the electorate didn't think he was doing a good job. They didn't think Iraq was going well. They didn't think the economy is going well. But they were scared by the right into "staying the course."

This was not a mandate for bush's agenda ... because he offered no agenda. But this morning I hear talk on the TV about how he had a mandate b/c he got a majority of the pop vote and b/c of the house races. That's bullshit.
