Why it took so long in Wisconsin:
Simply put, they refused to call it until ALL the votes were counted!

-WI=swing state. We knew that.

-WI=optical scan ballots only. No BBV's or punch-cards. VERY LITTLE margin of error, since every vote can be verified by examination of the ballot.

-WI=same day registration. Proof of ID required.

-The Nader Factor: Ralph got approx. 15,000 votes (1%), yet Kerry wins. (and F-you, Ralph, F-you!!!)

*********

ATTEMPTS AT FRAUD
-GOP Challenged voter registrations at predominantly BLACK precincts in Milwaukee. As far as I know, nobody challenged voter registrations in Waukesha or Ozaukee Counties.

-GOP tried to suppress the number of printed ballots available, by underestimating turnout. Again: Milwaukee Co.

-Suspicious report of GOP vehicles' tires slashed (Milwaukee). Security guard claims he saw a male (wearing a "black hoodie") fleeing from the scene.

DESPITE ALL of that:
Wisconsin was one of the last states called.."in the wee hours of the morning." And, despite all the attempts, Wisconsin went for Kerry.

NOW, my biggest question:
Why did it take so long to count Wisconsin, with all the safeguards in place to prevent fraud; and why did so many other states get called for bush, despite REAL fears of voter fraud, BBV's, absentee ballots that never arrived in the mail, poll-challenges by GOP's workers, and provisional balloting that will NOT be counted for several days (if at all)????

3. Was Wisconsin the one that flip-flopped for Kerry!
I believe that Florida will also flip-flop for Kerry. They're still counting overseas absentee ballots and will continue to do so through Friday.

7. and I believe that it was right after Election 2000....
that the state enacted the optical scan provision.

I don't remember, because I didn't move back here until 2001.

5. Thanks, Wisconsin...and you whipped the Redskins too.
Be proud you live in a blue state. I'm looking northward...my family doesn't belong here anymore.

6. This was so obvious
Once it was determined that Ohio and Iowa wouldn't be decided last night, there was a flurry of calls of states for Kerry.

The media wanted to make sure Kerry didn't lead in the EV count.

9. What about New Hampshire?
Why was that called so late? There were only 670,000 total votes.

Why? Because if Kerry holds all Gore states, NH puts him over the top. They had to keep NH in play until OH/FL were nailed down.
