What Time Tomorrow?
Will they announce results? Will I have to wait until 5:00 PST to know anything...or do they have to wait til California's polls close? Just wondering.

1. Polls close at 8PM PST.
Expect them to call whatever is callable at 8:01 PST.

2. But...will they announce east coast results while CA polls are still open?
I thought they weren't doing that anymore as it "discourages" voters out west. Anyone?

5. Results are generally announced shortly after the polls close.
That does mean east coast states will be announcing their results while CA polls are still open.

6. The practice has been not to report early, since...
...it could have an influence on voting in the West. I suppose anything is possible this time around.

But, frankly, I don't see anyone making an 11:01 EST call. It may not be a 2000 nail-biter, but the nets are going to be very, very cautious.

3. Depends on eveness of the battle.
All states report results during the day, but that doesn't mean much till mid to late afternoon in each time zone. If the results by, say 7 or 8 EST are WAY slanted towards one or the other candidate you might hear some stations saying so. But if it's even at all you'll probably have to wait till 8pm Pacific time (11pm East Coast) to have a chance of feeling sure of the result.

And if it goes like it did in 2000, you may not "know" for weeks.

4. I hope they dont call early
I mean I do but I dont want it to affect the results on the left. But if the networks do call early (which they said they wouldnt do after the 2000 fiasco) and we win OH, PA (in the bag basically), and FL, you can go to bed cause it's over! Unless of course you want to see the faces on the Fox people when we they declare John Kerry as the President! hahaha
