Is there a feasible mathematical combo that leads to an EV tie?
I'm sure if another nerd out there hammered the hundreds of permutations possible tomorrow, what ones could lead to a tie? And of those, which are realistic (in other words, no scenarios with Texas going to Kerry, California to Bush, etc.)?

It's more curiosity than anything. I'm sure I could spend the time and figure it out, but I'm wondering if anyone's seen any numbers like this hashed out.

2. Did you figure that out or did you see it somewhere?
If so, where?

Thanks, BTW.

11. Yikes, Bush/Edwards?
While it would mean the Senate went our way, let's just not even go there.

3. Here's one.
Kerry wins: ME, NH, VT, NY, MA, CT, RI, NJ, PA, MD, DE, DC, FL, MI, IL, MN, WA, OR, CA, HI

Bush wins: OH, IN, WV, VA, NC, SC, KY, TN, GA, AL, MS, AR, LA, TX, OK, KS, NE, ND, SD, MT, WY, CO, NM, AZ, UT, NV, AK

Result: 269 votes each, and the election goes to the House of Representatives.

the house won't even debate it - the GOP will hammer it through immediately & start patting themselves on the back cuz democracy is so great.

8. Yeah, the Founding Fathers were out taking a whiz
when they came up with this idiotic method of picking a CEO, weren't they?

I'll say it again--while I want JFK to have both a decicive electoral AND popular vote, if it were just the former, we might find a way for this country to come together and dump this POS electoral college, once and for all.

6. Here's two:
Kerry and Bush get their usual blue and reds, then the swing states go like this:

Kerry: MN, MI, FL, HI, HH

or

Kerry: NM, NV, MN, IA, WI, MI

10. Thats the scenario...
...I've been nervous about. Thankfully Kerry has been polling well in Wisconsin and my Mom is working for the Kerry campaign in NM and they're confident (busy as hell but confident right now). Apparently there is a huge population (Navajo I believe) that is virtually ignored in every poll that are heavily leaning for Kerry. They just have to get them to the vote in large enough numbers to keep it safely a blue state.
