Biased AP story: "Dems in GOP States Stay Distant From Party"

This is one of only 8 front-page news links on Yahoo's main page:

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20041101/ap_on_el_se/senate&cid=683&ncid=716

What a wonderfully biased headline, as if Repubs in Democratic states don't distance themselves from the GOP. Examples: here in Oregon, Goli Ameri is running against Democrat David Wu, and none of her campaign signs or stickers even identify her as a Republican. They just have her name on them. Also in Oregon: Gordon Smith, a real prize creep, has "distanced himself from the GOP" by wooing gay and lesbian voters and voting against anti-gay GOP legislation in order to solidify his support in a Dem-leaning state.

I'm no reporter and I know this crap. So why does the AP story only focus on Dems supposedly pretending to be Republicans in GOP states, when the phenomenon applies to both parties? Disgusting.
