Bush*: "Important not to have lawsuits that stop the will of the people"
He said it. Scalia's appointee really fucking said it.

I do think it's important for us to get the election over with and get on with the people's business. We'll see how it goes Tuesday night, but I really think it’s important not to have a world of lawsuits that stop the will of the people from going forward."

Then, Sir
This cowardly reptile had really better tell his party apparat to cancel their attempts to twist the law and prevent people from voting, and seeking excuses to not count votes that are cast....

2. Absolutely, George. Concede as soon as it's called.
If you hurry home, you can start packing immediately.

(Okay, who here thinks he was lying?)

5. Yes, he did say that but you are missing the point . .
Edited on Mon Nov-01-04 12:28 AM by TaleWgnDg
and the point is that GWBush says anything. Then he is well-known for doing the opposite. Particularly here where he is trying to score points w/ constituents to vote for him because he is not the party who pushes litigation; he doesn't want to negate their vote so he says.

That is, until the election is over -- meaning all the voters have voted -- and then he is free to litigate similarly as he did in y2k Bush v. Gore negating how many thousands of voters?!

He's sleaze. Top to bottom, sleaze.

6. Exactly...
... all part of the plan. Last time, the emphasis was on the Gore team's legal work, and convincing the public that, because Gore was challenging the vote, Gore was trying to steal the election.

Few people remember that it was Bush who first filed suit to stop the recounts.

More of the same, and I hope the Democrats are ready for it.

7. The "will" of the voters, my ass.
Yeah, that line from the Brokaw interview tweaked my blood pressure when I read it.

Voter intent in Florida in 2000 was clearly apparent, yet B*'s campaign fought over technicalities in order to thwart the "will of the people."

I continually wonder if he's one of the most unashamed liars we've ever had as President, or if he's simply clueless to the hypocrisy.

11. I don't often agree with Associate Justice Clarence Thomas . . .
Edited on Mon Nov-01-04 01:58 AM by TaleWgnDg
(frankly, I hardly if ever agree with Thomas). However, a few days ago when addressing Q&As with law students at the University of Kansas, Justice Thomas unabashedly said the following: "I find it very ironic that the very people saying judges are interfering are bringing lawsuits (such as Bush v. Gore)." You recall that it was GWBush who first litigated the case, and it was GWBush who filed for the U.S.Sup.Ct. to hear the case. And it has been and continues to be GWBush who bashes "activist judges."

How on point can it get? And I wonder if Thomas will recuse himself if litigation is brought b4 him seated at the U.S.Sup.Ct. in this new presidential election now that Thomas has expressly stated bias of the parties? What an idiot he is.

edited to add: "President Bush said he was 'troubled' by gay people
getting married in San Francisco. He said on important
issues like this the people should make the decision, not
judges. Unless of course we're choosing a president, then
he prefers judges." — Jay Leno

This statement of it, and the film of it, must be tossed into the teeth of any attempt by these reptiles to do that very thing.

13. The plot to steal the election thickens.
Too bad for * that turnout will be so high for Kerry/Edwards that none of their little shit will be able to stop it.

Man, my heart is beating, my hands are sweaty, and I'm shaking. The day is almost here, isn't it? Jesus Christ.

14. The Rethug strategy is clear....."2000" on steroids
1. Challenge hundreds of thousands of votes across the county ( one guy "on his own" dumped 17,000 challenges in fours boxes into court in Nevada .
http://www.reviewjournal.com/lvrj_home/2004/Oct-12-Tue-2004/news/24968639.html

Also - across at least 7 other states per that liberal rag the WSJ
http://online.wsj.com/article_email/0,,SB109892363852058034-INjfYNglah3n52mbHuIba2Im4,00.html

2. Challenged voters only get "Provisional ballot" - which they will argue in court must be thrown out ....have the states "declare" for Chimp...and they'll keep arguing til the clock runs out in Supreme Court where Scalia and crew will yet again declare "for the good of Georges pResidency"

We had better be ready for a fight----when you see a request for GELAC donation you need to contribute ( FEC has ruled donations are limitless...and you know who that favors)
