D-Day and the Presidential Election
I have been researching D-Day. During preps for the anticipated assault, Hitler wanted his field commanders to sign PERSONAL LOYALTY OATHS to him. What kind of person would ask another to sign a personal loyalty oath and what kind of person would sign one (marriage vows excepted)? As his losses piled up on the battlegrounds, his weakness and lack of resolve and diminishing loyalty to those who signed those oaths became apparent. hitler, who led with an iron fist, had pressed his military to the breaking point in a desperate move to WIN AT ALL COSTS. He was now up against a formidable, patriotic, battle tested opponent who fought hard to the final day of the war.

Again, who would ask anyone to sign a personal loyalty oath, and for what reason? Maybe that was okay in Germany during WWII, but that is not where we are today.
