10. Math is alien to me. I was never able to pass Algebra I in high school.
And consequently I'm taking a major in college (history) that avoids nearly all math. I may have to take some form of math soon, but if I do, I'll be paying someone to pass me. I'm a brilliant writer, musician, and orator, but I cannot do math beyond the pre-algebra level for the life of me.

11. My undergraduate degree is in political science.
So we share a liberal arts background. I have a master's in math but I think of myself as a "liberal arts math teacher." I do teach college algebra and trig but I'm also teaching a class called College Mathematics, which gets a lot more into some of the math we use in liberal arts careers and as responsible citizens. Maybe you can take something like that when the time comes. Good luck!

14. I went to a small liberal arts college.
The math class I took there was similar to the one you teach. We affectionately called it "Math for Lovers and Poets." The textbook even had a poem at the beginning of each chapter. LOL!

12. You may grow into it! That's what happened to me
I wanted to understand math, so I took Calculus and Statistics in college, but I had a very difficult time. I ended up majoring in History. Still, I had that hankering to do science, so I went to graduate school and had to take more math. Well, it clicked! I was in my late 20s and all of a sudden Statistics, especially Biostatistics, made all kinds of wonderful sense.

Don't give up on math. Especially with your ability in music, you might discover one day that you "get" math and it is a beautiful thing!
