It should be interesting to hear what Kerry has to say about the Osama Bin Laden tape. I may not report right away because there will be canvassing right after the event and I also have to go and vote. The city clerk's office screwed up my absentee ballot (they thought I lived on the W. instead of N.) I said, "Forget, I'm coming back to Appleton to make sure I get my ballot on time." It's an outside event, the weather isn't suppose to be so hot, Kerry was here two weeks ago, and it's early Saturday morning. I can't imagine turnout will be as high as the 10,000 it was last time, but hey this is the Fox Cities. I'm glad that I came up from school in Chicago just to vote and I get to see Kerry again as a HUGE bonus. Time to get some sleep so I'll be sharp with reminding Dems to vote tomorrow.

1. The Appleton Post Crescent endorsed Bush
Glad you're making the extra effort to get your vote counted. Here's hoping other dems do likewise.

3. Its a Gannett owned newspaper.
Gannett owns 101 newspapers. There was no corporate directive on endorsements, just like Scripps-Howard allowed their member papers independence this year. The Rockford Register Star, and the Des Moines Register are among Gannett papers to recommend Kerry. The Cincinnati Enquirer and the Arizona Republic are two of the Gannett newspapers that endorsed Bush. The Detroit News and Cleveland Plain Dealer, made no endorsement this election.

According to editorandpublisher.com, Kerry has 149 newspaper endorsements while President Bush has 126. The papers that support Kerry have a total circulation of 17.7 million. Those who endorsed Bush have circulation of 11.6 million.

4. Kerry has been 6 million readers ahead of Bush since the 1st endorsement
There will be many more endorsements this weekend, from the smaller, lesser known papers.

Thanks for your explanation of Gannett. I doubt most readers know who their hometown paper is owned by.
