the Azzam tape earlier this week was a fake. Totally different production and completely contradictory content.

OBL was, dare I say, almost conciliatory ("Leave us alone and we'll leave you alone.") which is quite a leap from "the streets will run with blood".

18. Paula Zahn Is Finally Right. This Tape Really Hurts Bush...Badly.

It's Osama's personal message to Americans that Bush didn't catch him and that he's doing just fine while we are all bogged down in Bush's Iraqi mess.

This hurts George W. Bush...and it should.

... it's also a truism that no one has ever gone bankrupt betting on the stupidity of Americans. Bush's approval ratings taking a quick,jolt every time one of these tapes have come out.

I don't mean to sound gloom and doom, but I would say Bin Laden will get exactly the same effect that he wanted to accomplish: the re-election of Bush.

19. Well that's a no-brainer. I don't know if you all know this, but

in response to Kerry talking about letting Bin Laden get away at Tora Bora, the RW has been smug in telling themselves (through talk radio, of course) that we GOT him at Tora Bora. They have been believing that OBL hasn't been seen or heard except in grainy videos that aren't dated. They have been saying that there has been no credible sight of Bin Laden since "we got him at Tora Bora." This argument is destroyed now.

Our best gadgets and zappers have not taken care of that pest yet, and all patience ran out yesterday. * is practically doing backflips trying to deflect the barbs thrown his way.

In the midst of this circus, IMHO, it's a safe bet to say Osama has drawn blood from the red side of the aisle. No one on the blue side can say it better than Osama, so perhaps it's best to let him do the talking and not beat a dead horse.

So to all you worriers out there, relax and take comfort and joy in the fact that ours is a society much enthralled by instant gratification--and Osama on the loose mouthing off is the antithesis of that. Who's fault is it? Blame the president! Ta-da!
