Yet Another *-to-Kerry voter conversion!
On a certain mailing list to which I'm subscribed, one of the few holdout republicans writes:
Believe it or not, I've decided to vote for John Kerry. Bush and those
he's surrounded himself with, have stumbled blindly into the unknown one
to many times. I'm tired of trying to defend all the boneheaded things
he and his administration have done since 9/11.

oooh yeah!

2. Oh my gawd
To give you an idea My dad thinks that Gengis Khan, Nixon and Reagan were too liberal. He has been in bush's corner forever. Finally, the ammo dump story and our constant arguing has had its toll. He just called to say, shock of shocks, he will vote for Obama and Nader in Illinois. But he will NOT vote for Bush. (that is a victory, of sorts)

I can't begin to describe some of the creaming battles we have had over shrub.

I have to sit for a bit. this world is not the world I knew just one day ago.

10. I hear you, a close relative of mine did the same last week.
Wrote-in a candidate for president. Couldn't vote for Kerry (as a life-long repub. he claimed he "just couldn't") and wouldn't vote for Nader, so he wrote one in. As long as it wasn't for Junior, I consider that a victory! And, as you said, a wee bit disorienting for those of us used to their certain way of thinking.

;)

5. I wish there were a way to document the mass exodus from this
creepy bunch. I am constantly hearing stories of people facing up to the substance of their Boy's failed presidency.

There seems to be a breaking point where people's allegiance to partisanship gets overwhelmed by stark reality and I think that it's likely happening all over the country.

6. Fools
Well as you can see by my number of posts I'm kinda new here.
I'm a registered repub. but you can be damn sure I won't be voting for Bush. How any of the repubs could vote for this fool is beyond me. Him and his entire cabinet just absolutely suck and I believe he'll go down in history as one of the worst presidents we've ever had. I can only hope and pray there are many other repubs. beside myself that have the brains to vote this * out of office.

9. Welcome to DU!
Glad to see that there are some Republicans who can see the Bush Administration for what it is: a betrayal of Republican ideals and an embarrassment for America.

12. Not all that long ago, the Republican Party was a party of great integrity
And we were a traditional American party -- a coalition of left, right, and center, urban and rural citizens, united by a desire to serve our country, and not by a desire to inflict an extremist ideology on our country whether or not the ideology conforms to reality.

Unfortunately, the extremists who currently hold this once-great party hostage have disgraced our party and wounded our nation and endangered our world.

I'm one of many who for years tried to beat back the radical extremist pseudo-Republicans in the primaries and within the party. Unfortunately the extremists are master manipulators and master liars. On the occasions when they didn't lie well, too many voters complacently figured these guys didn't really mean what they said and weren't really as dangerous as many of us said they were. We didn't succeed, and I got tired and gave up on fighting them from within the Republican Party.

So I offer my welcome to my fellow Republican in exile. I think there's going to be many more of us soon, as more and more Republicans see the almost unfathomable damage these people have done to our country. The extremists don't even deserve to be elected precinct captains, let alone to national office.
