The telephone survey was conducted between Oct. 17 and Tuesday, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.7 percent. The presidential results fall just within that margin.


Released Wednesday, the poll shows 49 percent of likely voters favor Kerry, compared with 42 percent supporting President Bush. Ralph Nader received support from 2 percent of respondents.

Kerry also did well with young voters, receiving support from 78 percent of voters aged 18 to 24, compared with 11 percent for Bush.

It's the collective whine of Minnesota freepers over the Minnesota Poll - they hate it because it has always shown Kerry in the lead.

On edit: My mistake - this wasn't the "Minnesota Poll" (its official title) which is conducted by the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. It's a Saint Cloud State poll - which is smack in the middle of a very conservative pocket of Minnesota. Dang, that's even more impressive!
