Wes Clarke; bush says don't vote for bush
Today George W. Bush made a very compelling and thoughtful argument for why he should not be reelected. In his own words, he told the American people that “…a political candidate who jumps to conclusions without knowing the facts is not a person you want as your Commander in Chief.

President Bush couldn’t be more right. He jumped to conclusions about any connection between Saddam Hussein and 911. He jumped to conclusions about weapons of mass destruction. He jumped to conclusions about the mission being accomplished. He jumped to conclusions about how we had enough troops on the ground to win the peace. And because he jumped to conclusions, terrorists and insurgents in Iraq may very well have their hands on powerful explosives to attack our troops, we are stuck in Iraq without a plan to win the peace, and Americans are less safe both at home and abroad.

By doing all these things, he broke faith with our men and women in uniform. He has let them down. George W. Bush is unfit to be our Commander in Chief.

1. brilliant
He doesn't miss a thing. I hope this one's heard loud and clear.
And those fucking freepers-Of course they're talking about it. They just can't STAND that a distinguished General (and so many others, for that matter), supports OUR man.

The really sad part is I am sure Bush was working from a script.

Sadly, I have no doubt that you're right. Before the shrub, I have never seen someone who spoke COMPLETELY in scripted slogans and soundbytes. It's weird.

8. I've said from the beginning, he's TOO pretty to be president
nothing would get done, everyone would just be admiring that face all day. And it's a shame too, he would have made a damn fine CIC.

11. ooooh
I have had the pleasure of seeing him in person twice, but not in uniform :-( That's OK though! He could have been wearing anything.

He has gorgeous eyes...

His son ain't chopped liver either!

I think I saw something on another thread about Wes Jr being the future Governor of CA? Is he really thinking about it, or is this just wishful thinking?

19. General Hottie comments aside...
Wes Jr is a screenwriter in California and since his appearances in the campaign for his father, many, many, many, many people have urged him to run for something. For anything.

He really is that good. Picture Wes thirty years younger, less some of the experience, but with the General's amazing charisma and ability to simplify and explain any issue in a way that ensures maximum buy in. The guy is a complete natural.

The trouble is, he doesn't really like public life. Like his father, he'll have to be drafed to the roll.

But don't let that stop you.

22. He's just brilliant!
Thanks for posting this. I hadn't seen that he'd said it, though I did watch a clip of Bush making his statement.
The General always says the perfect thing, succinctly, and so on target.
I just love him.
