Wes Clark has been making this case for well over two years. DU has nothing to take credit for.

But his son, Wes Jr, does occassionally lurk here.

I tend to think Wes said it, and the Kerry campaign said, gee... that's worth putting out special.

But yeah, Kerry has had Wes out on the road for him, in a grinding schedule, for the last week and a half, and quite often in the weeks prior. In the last two days alone, he's been at multiple events all over Florida, Wisconsin and Michigan, and has a rally in Little Rock (with the Band of Sisters) scheduled for this afternoon. He's supposed to head for NM tomorrow, last I heard.

I dunno what DU could have to do with it... I'd say it's the Clinton hands in the campaign who've got their act together... but I guess it doesn't much matter who takes the credit, as long as the job is getting done.

The one they showed right after Shali spoke, or maybe before, and definitely before all the flag officers came on stage.

I never have seen that video made available publicly (and dammit, I didn't think to tape it--didn't know it was coming). It wasn't archived by C-SPAN, or at least I couldn't find it there. But it's got to exist somewhere. Probably a little too long to run as a TV ad, but it could be passed around the internet.

Not particularly well written, imo. You have to read closely to figure out that the "he" in the second paragraph refers to the President and not to Kerry.

Here's a picture I took of him in Colorado recently.

Just saw "Going Upriver". It made me think of Wes Clark and his response to John Kerry and what Kerry did when he came back from Vietnam after winning medals, getting shot up, and seeing the truth. He fought for the soldiers that had seen things that were wrong. He fought for America's honor and decency. They are both truly American heroes who understand that dissent is the foundation that makes Democracy work. Understand this: Whatever Wes is doing - and he has been busting his butt for several months now on behalf of Kerry and many others around the country - comes from his heart and soul. There is a reason why Cheney loathes him. Cheney is less than mud on the bottom of Wes' shoe. Bush is what he just stepped in so maybe mud is not the precise word.
