CBS Withholdong Pro-Kerry Fla Poll?
Seems the SCLM is getting even more cowardly - from MyDD:

The word I hear is that NYT/CBS are not going to release their latest FL survey, because it shows Kerry up by 4 points.  Apparently, they think that is an implausible result, so they are suppressing it.  Of course, it's not implausible at all.  And imagine the reverse:  would they have suppressed a poll showing Bush up 4?

Atrios is on this too and Kos has a recommended diary. Atrios says the original poll had Kerry up by 8 or 9! and had SCLB in collective head-scratching mode

2. I'll say it again.
A tighter race makes for better ratings which translates into more money in the pocket of the media.

They want this to look like it's close and it suits the campaigns just fine because they want to keep their base mobilized and motivated to vote.

4. BINGO!
This is so true. Media is all about entertainment.

A football game is better for ratings if it is suspected to be a close game coming down to the wire.

The media doesn’t care about the veracity of the polls. If * wins, they can opine just how great and accurate the polls are and if he loses then they can talk about “Comeback Kerry”

Either way, it brings in those AD dollars.
