I think this guy has the potential to be one of the major greats. He's got a keen mind, a genuine heart and gut political instincts.

I'm sold.

14. Just the whole process
Edited on Mon Oct-25-04 07:13 PM by ruggerson
I chose him in the primaries purely on electability. Then I thought he blew the convention with his edict for everyone not to go negative on Bush. (I think the convention would have been far more effective if EVERYONE had routinely, surgically taken Bush apart bit by bit and then Kerry had come out with a soaring, positive speech afterwards.) I thought the handling of the swiftboat crap was totally lame.

But, he kept going and going and going. He kept on message, he didn't let the rightwing bullets deter him. And his performance in the debates was so focused and so right and so on target that it made me realize how strong a leader he can be.

His perseverance and his tenacity ultimately is what pushed me over. He wants to do this for us. For all of us. I am impressed and grateful at the same time. I am actually feeling hopeful for my country.

10. me too!
And I REALLLLLLY like Clinton!

Kerry originally wasn't my first choice- I was a Clarkie during the primaries. But I also had the attitude even then that ANY of those running would be a good choice. I didn't know much about JK then. BUT the more I know about him and the more I see and hear from him, the more I like him. I don't think he has a phony bone in his body and he genuinely CARES. When Clinton's 8 years were up, I wasn't sure if we'd ever have someone so down to earth and caring in the WH again, and I'm THRILLED to see that I was wrong. He's great!

I know how freakin hard that is to learn and do, so it's just another reason to admire the guy. He will do what it takes and then some, we will not hear "its hard werk" from this man. Love HIM also!

9. He has so much knowledge and experience.
I think he is one of the most qualified people to run for the presidency in years. He knows foreign affairs like the back of his hand; he also has great courage and maturity. Kerry rocks!

11. I think John Kerry can fill big dawg's shoes and
learn from his mistakes. I don't think he will make the same mistakes. I hope he will ensure fair labor and environmental laws for free trade. He leans a little more that way than Clinton did. So surely he can do even better! If he can do that, he will be even better. I still love Bill Clinton because he ensured me the best 8 years of my life. I don't think Kerry will mess up on the woman thing either! Teresa will make sure of that!!! LOL

Edited on Mon Oct-25-04 07:06 PM by clydefrand
him on CNN, of course ;-) when it wasn't trying to immitate Fox. This was back in the 90's when he was working on normalizing relations with Vietnam and our POW issues. I thought then what a wise, practical sounding person. None of the bullshit that comes from too many politicians' mouths on both sides of the aisle. I was sold on him right away. And I can remember the first time I saw him that I thought he would make a good president and I believe it even more today.

15. he's got potential
he's slightly to the left of clinton, and with that resume, if he can keep his fly zippped he should command trmendous moral authority here and abroad. If we can somehow just rid the govenment of Delay and his ilk, then restore some balance to the airwaves, ths thing could turn around very quickly.

I must confess I never voted for bill clinton

If he can accomplish half of what Clinton did with all the problems we have at home and in the world, he'll go down as the best Dem since FDR.

22. I like Kerry a lot too
Kerry has really impressed me in this campaign. I was lukewarm to him in the primaries because I thought he came across as kinda dull and uninspiring--I was a bit worried that he was too much like Gore--a policy wonk with loads of intelligence/experience and not enough charisma.

My mind was changed when I saw him live and in person here in Raleigh, NC with John Edwards on July 10. I was completely amazed at how differently he came across in person, just as I was impressed with Al Gore when I saw him in New Orleans late in the 2000 campaign.

Modern sound-bite politics really robs viewers of the ability to make accurate appraisals of the people that they're watching. Both Kerry and Gore came off completely differently in person than they did through the media.

By any objective measure, Kerry deserves to win this election. If he does, and congress stays as it is, then it will be a very difficult term for him, at least until the mid-terms. If he's done a good job until that point, then perhaps his coattails will win him at least one house of congress; but until then, I expect a lot of fascist obstructionism.

23. I can see how some people prefer Clinton
Clinton does seem to be a bit more of a charmer. Personally, however, I'm not interested in being charmed. I don't have a real need for a president who has a good "camera presence". I don't really give a rat's ass if I ever see the president on TV again, to tell you the truth. I just want someone to implement some sane foreign policies, so that every pissed off guerrilla with a box cutter(or 380 tons of HE) isn't trying to kill me. And no matter *what* happens in Iraq,

I WANT MY 2 MILLION FUCKING JOBS BACK!!

Kerry will get this done. I'll find somebody else to pal around with, I'm sure he'll be too damn busy anyway. :)

He was, as we all know, a bit of a lothario. With John we won't have to worry about 'bimbo eruptions' being used to distract from real issues.

26. Yes

I really truly love John Kerry. He is such an intelligent, kind, compassionate, honorable man, and he will restore dignity to the White House. He is running for selfless reasons - because he wants to enact positive change in the country and in the world. He is strong, courageous, and handsome, and I really think he'll end up being one of the best presidents we've ever had. I cannot wait to cast my ballot for him on November 2.

27. I like him better ever since I realized how much
integrity he has. He is solid and steady as a rock. I like the fact that he was right TWICE about vietnam: he was brave enough to fight in person, then he was brave enough to stand up to Nixon and the powerful senators and tell the truth, and helped end the war.

He is not as slick as Clinton, but that's a plus for our side, I think.

28. Ill be the party pooper. NO ONE will ever outdo WJC with me - SORRY!
He's THE MAN and as much as I like Kerry, I simply adore WJC, the man brings me to tears just by walking in a room! Maybe Kerry will rise to the level during his Presdiency, but right now Clinton is THE MAN..

I worked on his campaign and attended his first Inaugural, seared into me

Sorry, no flames. :scared:
