My local paper endorsed the Chimperor today
The Farmington Daily-Times, a Gannet paper serving northwest NM and SW CO to some extent, recently had a shakeup of the board. This never would have happened under the old board. Now the Democratic editor and city editor, the Libertarian librarian and my hairy Independent (voting for Kerry) friend who works there are the only non Re:puke:s there.

Here it is: http://www.daily-times.com/artman/publish/Editorial.shtml

Some balance, written by me, published on Monday: http://www.daily-times.com/artman/publish/monday/Columns.shtml

To me, the endorsement isn't very enthusiastic. In fact, it's more an indictment of the deficit and the PATRIOT Act. It could very well have been written by the city editor (a friend of mine) as a Kerry endorsement, and then the publisher took it and changed "Kerry" to "Bush" and added some crap about Bush being a "strong leader." Tellingly, in the print version, it doesn't have the names of the staff at the bottom, only in the on-line version does it have them.

Maybe they though they had to endorse Shrub to balance me out (I write regularly), or they would lose half their subscriptions.

Regardless, I'm pissed! :wtf:
