for bush. got there when the polls opened at 9:00 and had to wait in a very long line which was even longer when I left. Jebbie can see this out his window in the capitol building. hope it makes him sick

1. Amazing. Americans standing in long lines for EARLY VOTING.
I don't think voter apathy will be a problem this year. And like Ann Richards said, when Democrats vote, we win.

President Kerry! Sounds great, doesn't it?

3. Early Voting is a great thing.
It reduces the effectiveness of late October surprises. It makes the polls less crowded on election day. And it also spreads out the load on people who are phone banking.

7. My son liked that picture
He already likes Kerry, but to a 5-year-old who LOVES dogs - especially golden retreivers - the picture has made my son a lifelong Kerry fan, now.

That and the fact that my boy though Kerry was in an Army uniform like his hero Wesley Clark. :)

4. How was parking?
I can't remember where I read this, but I heard one of the repuke's tricks in the upcoming election was to leave parked cars in the lots and parking spaces nearest to the polls. I've warned my FIL and SMIL who are a democratic area about this. My FIL has trouble walking more than a few blocks at a time.

5. What kind of machine did you vote on?
Did you get any visual proof of your vote? All important stuff. Of Course is Tallahassee a Republican area? What we hear in the North is that good voting machines are used in FL republican areas and bad voting machines in the Dem areas.

6. Same Here
I'm in a small, rural FL county. We're about half Dem, half Rep registered voters. I waited in line 30 mins yesterday morning at 9:00 AM. Our S/E was expecting 3000-4000 early voters total for the entire early voting period. As of yesterday morning, 3800 had already cast ballots.

9. My cousin voted in Tallahassee on the first day early voting was
allowed. He said he shook hands with Jesse Jackson who was there to make sure nobody was disenfranchised. He also said he made calls the prior weekend to registered Democrats and that Noelle Bush's name appeared on his list. He called her and she assured him that she's voting for Kerry. This was relayed to me by my uncle so I didn't get to ask my cousin any questions about her. How many Noelle Bushes can there be on Florida's rolls? Maybe she'll add her own entry on the "Bush relatives for Kerry" site.

15. Richardson TX, North Dallas - 2249 Voters Cast Ballots
Saturday alone.

At the Richardson Civic Center, over 9,000 voters had voted after six days of early voting.

This is much heavier turnout than anticipated.

20. Memphis area EV up 78% from 2000 !!!
Local news says that the voter turnout in Memphis/Shelby County is up 78% from 2000 and while the numbers are good for the GOP they are even better for the DEM-O-crats - some places that lean democrat are reporting 139% and 150% increases in turnout from 2000!!!

Over 85,000 have already cast their votes as of Saturday!!

30. I am seeing similar numbers for early voting all over the country
I have read a number of articles quoting figures in the high 70's for increases in early voting ai every state that early voting is available in. No matter whart, higher turnout always favors Democratic candidates due to the numerical superiority of Democratic voters. Repukes are trying to contest new voter registration all over the country becauseall of the early figures show much higher democrat voting, much larger than the increase in republican voting. Even with the evangelical vote Bush cannot overcome this if it continues. Kerry could conceivably win in a landslide if this trend continues, as the polls do not reflect the large numbers of new voters registered this year.

They are expecting 30,000 early voters here, based on how many have already voted.
