TRAVIS COUNTY REPUBLICAN FRAUD

Subject: From Valori - pass on

Yesterday a friend voted early at a polling location in Austin. She voted straight Democratic. When she did the final check, lo and behold every vote was for the Democratic candidates except that it showed that she had voted for Bush/Cheney for president/vice pres.

She immediately got a poll official. On her vote, it was corrected. She called the Travis County Democratic headquarters. They took all her

information. They told her that she wasn't the first to report a similar incident and that they are looking into it.

So, check before you leave the polling booth, and if anything is wrong, get it corrected immediately. Report any irregularities to your local Democratic headquarters

It came to our attention and to the attention of Dana DeBeauvoir, our County Clerk, that some people had cast straight Democratic and when proofing their ballot saw a vote marked for Bush.

To put out the rumors: This happened to one voter and was corrected before the ballot was cast. These are not machine malfunctions. However, human error can cause ballot errors.

START EMAILING EVERYONE TO PROOF THEIR BALLOTS TO MAKE SURE THEY DID NOT MAKE AN ERROR.

What happened in this case was human error and was not a machine malfunction.

After pressing ENTER after marking Straight Democrat, some voters inadvertently turn the SELECT wheel one click through the ballot while meaning to go to the final "PROOF" page. If you hit enter at that point, your cursor is over the first candidate on the ballot: Bush/Cheney.

So, the answer to this problem is this:

TELL EVERYONE TO PROOF THEIR BALLOT. If there is an error, page back and fix it and/or ask for assistance in doing so. You must fix these things BEFORE you hit CAST BALLOT.

2. I had no problems
But I made sure to vote for each office individually, and in the races where it was just a Republican vs. a Libertarian I voted Lib.

5. Another reason not to -- Check Out "Dem" Candidates
I was just writing a post on this for another forum, but it fits the title and could be more wide-spread than just my state.

I caught a reference a while back that the guy running against Deb Pryce Ohio R-15 (often referred to as the most powerful female R) is virulently anti-choice, and much more along the lines of a very conservative R -- at the time, didn't think much more than that he was looking to get some name recognition (no party backing -- but they can prevent him from gathering his own sigs and getting on the ballot -- they didn't have anyone that could beat Pryce)

Want to bet that all of those sigs are anti-choice people???

Pryce is a moderate from what I can tell, voted yes on Partial...Ban, but pro-choice otherwise, and not bad on other issues -- she was also an honorable judge before she ran for Congress...

I'm wondering if there's an underground plan in the anti-choice community to try to take advantage of the possibility of Dems voting straight party line without thinking twice this year.....

Coupled with the anti-choice bloc, this could oust a powerful voice of bipartisan reason AND replace her with this Mark Brown character -- whose website I've visited but can't find right now (I'll find it before doing a separate post) --
Scary, has a huge pdf of his "plans"....

This could be a big Nov Surprise -- sort of like selling short (or long, I have no stock market acumen...)
