DNC would be wise to take advantage of the KY Sen race...
Mungiani (sp?) just got some REAL good free press on Wolf Blitzer. He has closed the gap from a blow out to within MOE. His repugnican incumbant opponent has called him Saddam Husein's son, has said he doesnt watch the news or read the paper - he gets all his info from Fox News. There are allegations of him having alzheimers, and the list goes on...he is losing what should be a Repugnican stronghold, and the Democratic party would be wise to jump on this and fund this guy any way they can to close the deal in this last couple weeks. IMHO

2. Mongiardo, LOL.

It is a pretty tough name, I had to google it to make sure I got it.

Tough names, you know, not the GOP's strong suit.
That's probably why Bunning thinks he's some kind of furriner.

:eyes:

7. Mongiardo is the grandson of Italian Immigrants
he was born in Kentucky on 4th of July.

Is that American enough for Bunning?

Comparing the guy to Saddam s sons...a smear that is aimed at brain dead foreign-hating bigots.

3. It's Mongiardo.
And yes, it would be quite a coup if they could knock Bunning's sorry ass off the mound. This may be part of the weekend battle plan in the Nownow household -- contributing to races like this that we have a fair shot at getting a Dem in, even if they're not in our state. The one in our state probably is a wash, though I've contributed to the campaign. I don't think it'll happen -- a lot of Dems vote for the Gooper who's the incumbent because he was governor a few years back. They don't care that he's at least partially responsible for the shitty condition Ohio's in -- as long as they recognize his name, that's all that really matters.

4. just saw it...here's an quick blurb from his interview
When told it was a national news story that involved a soldier from Louisville, Bunning said he doesn't watch the national news, nor does he read the newspaper, WLKY NewsChannel 32 reported.

The senator said he does, however, watch the Fox News cable channel.

After reporters told him the story was broadcast on Fox News, Bunning said, "not the times I watched it," WLKY reported.

5. I Watched the "debate" last night on CSPAN...
where Bunning didn't show up. Mongiardo was just there answering questions from a panel. No cardboard cutout of Bunning or empty chair.
You're right, the DNC should jump on this race-there's got to be LOTS of voter doubts about Bunning on several fronts to be brought out.

6. Sen. Corzine announced a few days ago
that the Senatorial Committee has sent Dr. Dan $200,000.

CNN's Blitzer just proclaimed Bunning a winner anyway in the "very conservative state." Blitzer must get the same messages from God that * gets.
