MSNBC: Nader Factor Seems To Be Fading
Consumer advocate stripped of much of his support.

From the article:

A survey conducted this month for the Democratic Nat'l Committee by pollster Stanley Greenberg showed Nader averaging 1.5 percent of the vote in a dozen battleground states where his name appears on the ballot, compared with about 3 percent in the summer. It also showed most of the support Nader lost had shifted to Kerry and indicated his remaining backers would be as likely to vote for Bush as for the Senator if Nader were not running.

Poor Ralphie stayed too late at the party and lost all his friends.

1. It's true,,,I posted an article a few days ago
from 'Nader's Raiders'. It was a letter urging all who voted for Nader in 2000 to now vote for kerry. I think that just about does it.

3. Too bad that Nader let his
ego get in the way of what could have been. Had he traded the support of his "voters" to Kerry in exchange for a position in the new administration, he would have the opportunity to accomplish something real, as opposed to this lost cause. Which ultimately makes the case that it's all about him.

6. Or, perhaps Nader..
..simply disagrees with the major two candidates and feels something else should be done in Washington. I'm voting for Kerry, but it just looks stupid for people to make personal attacks like "It's all about him." Do you think Kerry doesn't at least partly want to be president because of the prestige of the office and a chance to cement himself in the annals of American history? I, for once, am glad Nader is out there, pushing Democrats at the national level to actually pay attention to their liberal base.

4. If Nader wants to save face, he needs to withdraw now
Nader is not going to be a factor in the election. However, he can save some of his reputation and perhaps help Senator Kerry by withdrawing now.

Nader is not stupid and this is really his best move at this point.

5. He's an ideological-neutral "protest vote." No threat.
He's been effectively neutralized. In fact, "neutralization" was never called for, since a large majority of his former backers see the ovverriding importance of a powerful "NO!" to the current regime.
