1. Last time I checked the Senate is up for grabs
We are closer now to taking the Senate than I thought possible 6 months ago.

2. This guy (freeperly propagandist, but thorough) has GOP picking up 3 seats
He's always cherry picking polls for most GOP-favorable affect, so I am curious to see what the latest polls say.

4. If you are correct then it's a push... we don't gain anything.
That would be 4 "switch to GOP" and 4 "switch to DEM" and the rest "STAY" the same.

Modified prediction based on your comments:

(R) Alaska: R-Murkowski 45, D-Knowles 47 - Poll Results - SWITCHES TO DEM

(R) Colorado: R-Coors 50, D-Salazar 46 - Poll Results - SWITCHES TO DEM

(R) Illinois: R-Keyes 23, D-Obama 68 - Poll Results - SWITCHES TO DEM

(R) Kentucky: R-Bunning 53, D-Mongiardo 39 - Poll Results - SWITCHES TO DEM

(R) Oklahoma: R-Coburn 47, D-Carson 41 - Poll Results - STAYS GOP

(D) Florida: R-Martinez 49, D-Castor 47 - Poll Results - STAYS DEM

(D) Georgia: R-Isakson 53, D-Majette 35 - Poll Results - SWITCHES TO GOP

(D) Louisiana*: R-Vitter 43, D-John 18 - Poll Results - SWITCHES TO GOP

5. Yeah, I'm doing senate spreadsheets including the latest polls
A good site is http://www.realclearpolitics.com/Senate.html They have most of the recent polls. It's helpful to click on the link at left of the poll and see a poll breakdown or an article, such as the latest Alaska poll and an analysis of the favorability ratings of Knowles and Murkowski.

Another site I use is http://www.fromtheroots.org/ That's a Democratic site and the polls may be partisan, but good links and info. Here are two new polls from that site that I have not seen on DU:

New Polls in AK and CO
Wed Oct 20th, 2004 at 05:32:01 PM EST

Alaska
                           Knowles      Murkowski
Definite Voters:       48%            44%
Likely voters:           47%            43%
(Global Strategy Group * 10/17-19 * 600 likely voters MoE +- 4%)
Colorado
                            Salazar      Coors
Definite Voters:      50%           43%
Likely voters:          49%           43%
(Global Strategy Group * 10/17-19 * 600 likely voters MoE +- 4%)
