Barring nothing significant happens this coming week?

I just have a really good feeling. I haven't felt this way until this past week or two.

4. I'm GOTVing.
This coming week I'm doing my last lit drop blitz before the elections. I'm going to be a poll worker. I have a list of 6 people in my precinct that need rides to the polls on election day. I will be turning in my last absentee application for someone tomorrow. I voted early today and the turnout looks good. I ID'd voters in my precinct and all Dems seem strong. That's why I feel good!

Hunting is part of man's natural way of life. If hippies are so hell bent on being natural, why don't they hunt?

I don't hunt, but I respect those that do. In Wisconsin, if people don't hunt deer, the deer population gets out of control. It's nature's methoud of balance.

22. I'm located just north of Wisconsin.
In Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We have the same over-population problem with the deer up here. If we don't hunt them, they starve to death in the winter and spring. There aren't enough predators to cull the herds. Hunters help keep the herds healthy. And we eat what we hunt.

28. Urban spawl is the real culprit!
Deer populations are so large in WI because of the abundance of browse made available due to urban sprawl and development and logging.

in Upper Michigan. In fact, you'd be hard-pressed to find any place that you could really call "urban." (no, I'm not kidding)

8. What really convinces me...
Now, with this election I've had good days and bad days. But, in these last few weeks, I've been having more good days. The reason why: Denial. Not my own, mind you, but Bushco's. Most articles I've seen have all been "Bush denies...", "White House refutes...", "Bush challenges accusations...". They've been on the defensive, and, to quote Rove, "When you're explaining, you're losing".

14. This is true.
It seems like nothing the opponents are trying to do to discredit Kerry is working right now. I think many are tired of all the mud-slinging. The even and consistent Kerry also showed himself well in the debates. I think that's what helped turn the tide.

16. calls.johnkerry.com: the Kerry Phone Corps wants you!:
I've been doing this too! Great way to help the campaign in battleground states without ever leaving home. Here's a note I sent to a 1000 of my closest friends (okay so it's a little hokey):

"This really is a ridiculously easy way to help the campaign. Just sign up at calls.johnkerry.com and you get a list of names and numbers to call and most everyone on the list is already pro–Kerry and very friendly. I’ve been doing this for a couple of weeks now and if a misanthropic malcontent like me can find inner harmony by making phone calls to complete strangers...What’s that? You’re a misanthropic malcontent too?! Perfect! Think of them as patriotic crank phone calls! Just use your free cell phone minutes or an unlimited long distance home service plan. Please forward on. Thanks - me."

10. I KNOW it
I just know it. The only place we hear that Bush is going to win is in the right-wing media and their rigged polls. Every other bit of evidence is completely contrary to that:

•The Kerry campaign has RAKED in money like no other Dem candidate. EVER. Not through maximum donations from big business fat-cat buddies (although celebrities and other rich folks are certainly doing their share). This is through $25 and $50 donations from regular folks all over the country who are sick to death of Dumbya.

•Voter registration has EXPLODED this year. This wouldn't happen so folks could vote for an incumbent. That doesn't make any sense.

•People are lining up and waiting in line FOR HOURS to vote where early voting has already begun. Have you ever heard of this happening before?

•People watched the debates like they were the freaking Super Bowl. Since when were average Americans so interested in debates? Not in my lifetime.

•Formerly Repug newspapers, heads of state worldwide, religious leaders, even some high-ranking Repugs are going out of their way to endorse Kerry and rebuke Bush. Citizens from around the world are speaking out, taking polls, sending letters, etc. to convince Americans to get rid of Bush. Concert tours and speaking tours by anti-Bush artists are sold out. People flocked to see F9/11 like it was a blockbuster action film. Kerry rallies are attended by 10, 20, 30 THOUSAND people.

•All ANYONE is talking about is this election. I never talked politics at work so much as I have this past year. A huge group of my coworkers and I spend our entire lunchhour every day trading stories about Rove's latest evil plot and Kerry's latest snappy comeback.

As well as the quotes about new and cell-phone voters who aren't polled.

And the history of undecideds who usually break for the challenger.

AND get several standing ovations, then yeah, DEMS are FIRED up.

We want it more.

We are working harder.

We are working against greater odds, yet we are still either tied or ahead in all reasonable polls.

Yes. Kerry is going to win.

The only thing about which we need to worry is the margin. We MUST create such a margin so as to thwart theft.

Kerry will win, but Kerry MUST win completely. He did his job, in about a week, we'll be able to get his back.

John F Kerry, 44th President of the United States.

Go ahead and say it :)

The standard tracking polls over the past week have been basically staying within the same range of a virtual tie to Bush up by a few points. Still within the MOE, and it's quite possible that Kerry's reported strength in the battleground states will enable him to pull out an EC victory even if Bush were to edge him in the popular vote, but I'd be a lot happier if there had been a measurable (even if small) movement in Kerry's direction over the course of the week.

As to the battleground states, my worry is that they all seem to be so close, with a number of them being tacitly "assumed" to be in our corner even though we may have only a 1% lead, or a 5% lead in one poll and a 5% deficit in another. For example, we're all hoping that we can win over Ohio (which is one of the states where polls are contradictory), but that will matter little if Bush manages to pick up a couple of points in Pennsylvania, say, and we wind up losing there.

Finally, and this is what really worries me, is that I see very few scenarios where we can get to 270 EV without taking Florida -- and I am convinced that Jeb, his Secretary of State, and the Republican-dominated Legislature will make sure that we don't do that. Seriously, a non-Florida winning scenario would require us capturing Ohio and either Wisconsin or Minnesota (both of which are far too close for comfort, with a handful of polls showing Bush with a slight lead), plus hold on to our leads in all the other "leaning Kerry" states such as Iowa, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, and Nevada and/or New Mexico. That's a pretty tall order, and it would be a lot easier if we could take care of 10% of the EV we need in one blow in Florida...but do you really think that there won't be some sort of hanky-panky that makes sure that those 27 votes wind up in the Bush column yet again?

31. Your analysis strikes me
as being spot on. I'm nervous. I really hoped to see Kerry pull away in some of the battleground states over the last week. It looks like the American people have decided to fire bushco but still haven't committed to JK. The Sinclair stations have yet to show their hit piece. It's difficult to know which way it's going to break. I'm pinning my hopes on voter turnout with a significant number of new and young voters going for Kerry.

26. There is one thing that we all know,
and that is: the media lies. Most of their poll #s are different from the state polls. The corporate media show their ever so loyal viewers these poll #s.
Cognizant of this, we can infer that Kerry will win in a landslide.
