**** URGENT: For Californians *****
I heard on the radio that Ahhhhhhhnold is planning to go to Ohio to campaign for the chimp.

Since Ahhhhhhnold could never get elected in Kullifuhrnia without democratic support, a deluge of e-mails, calls and faxes from us will make him rethink the wisdom of campaigning for the chimp.

Let's do it!

CAMPAIGN 2004
STAR POWER: Schwarzenegger plans Ohio trip to boost Bush
- Carla Marinucci, John M. Hubbell, Chronicle Political Writers
San Francisco Chronicle Wednesday, October 20, 2004

http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2004/10...

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger plans a high-profile trip to the presidential battleground state of Ohio on the weekend before the Nov. 2 election -- an effort aimed at pumping up GOP voters and leveraging the governor's star power to boost President Bush's chances of success.

Though the governor downplayed the idea Tuesday of campaign appearances for Bush, insiders said plans are under way for a trip the weekend of Oct. 29 -- enabling the former Mr. Olympia to maximize his influence in Ohio, where he has real estate holdings and a following thanks to his annual Columbus- based Arnold Classic bodybuilding competition.

Some political insiders have wondered aloud why the most popular GOP politician in the nation -- who publicly broke ranks with Bush and his party on the issue of stem cell research this week when he endorsed California's Proposition 71 -- has been noticeably absent from the campaign trail for the Republican president.

<snip>

"He's obviously very careful about how he spends his political capital. He's very focused,'' said Carrick.

And if the governor campaigns in Ohio in the final days, "he's out there when you're guaranteed to get the most electronic exposure you possibly can, and at a time when there's very little accessibility to any of the media.''

The trip would come at a time when Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry has lavished attention on the Buckeye state, which has 20 electoral votes. Kerry has been there twice this week alone.

2. Done
I just sent an e-mail. Although I DESPISE Ahhnold, I forced myself to be relatively polite in order to get a bit more traction.

5. Who gives a rats ass about Ahnold
Its a free country.
He can lay down with any dog he wants too and get their fleas.

Do you REALLY think that Ahhnold appearing with Shrubery will SWAY any votes his way in OH?

I really think this whole "undecided" voters is now horse-shit this late in the game and if I was undecided, living in OH with no job, 3 kids and no health insurance...seeing "der gropenator" (as we call him out here in Kali) with dickface is not going to make me see the GOP-LIGHT and vote for tweedle-dee and Cheney-dumb.

6. I sent long email since I stupidly voted for him it gave me more
power. I said I was already mad about his speech at RNC and if he goes to Ohio that is the last straw and I will not vote for him again. And that I know a lot of dems who voted for him because of how he said he would be for both parties and now we feel cheated.

Actually I am mad I voted for him to begin with, I drank the koolaid, and will NOT vote for him next time. I just didn't like Davis or his Lt.

7. marlakay, don't feel too bad
My husband made the same kind of mistake, he voted for Perot in 1992. It didn't take long be be relieved Clinton won and he was able to redeem himself in 1996.
Did you see how magnanimous Davis was; even appearing with A. on the Tonight Show? His valiant war record was made public, too.
He just didn't fight, but he should have. Oh well.
Maybe Maria can give him an ultimatum: if you stump with *, I will stump with Ted...in OHIO.

9. I did see Davis and it made me wonder about the media
before I got involved in the campaign this past 6 months I was like the millions of others who actually believed what was on the news. They said the whole energy thing was Davis fault and now it looks like it was Enron and Bush who stuck it to Davis to take him down and it worked. I feel bad about that.

10. I remember all that, too. Just take it as a learning experience.
But Davis sure didnt help by not putting up a good fight. I didn't vote for A. and I just hope we get through his term without too much harm.

8. Bad move ahhhnold.
""He's obviously very careful about how he spends his political capital. He's very focused,""

Obviously, he's an effin idiot cause the chimp is going down. But hey, maybe if they all pile onto that ship and it sinks we'll have Springtime in America again.

11. I feel the urge to vent...
...I realize this is off topic a little, and all of the following probably have been covered on DU before I joined, but seeing that Ahnuld is going to grunt on behalf of the chimp causes my gorge to rise and brings on a variety of (unpleasant) memories...such as:

1. isn't it funny how Ahnuld could commit sexual battery on women and the GOP and a lot of dumb Cali voters ignored it, while Clinton's consensual sex was a big deal?? Same goes for celebrities in politics (Ahnuld, Ronnie good; liberals bad)

2. of course the GOP (probably Rove) was behind the phony electricity "crisis" and used it to run Davis out of office (remember Ahnuld's secret meeting with Kenny Boy before running)

3. Ahnuld's fairy tales while campaigning included these whoppers: no special interest money; would solve the budget crisis by cutting out "waste and fraud"; would be for "the little guy". Now that he's in office, what does he do? Becomes a bigger fund-raiser than Davis, borrows 15B to stave off financial meltdown (exactly what Davis would have done), appoints anti-consumer, pro-business types to state boards and "regulatory" agencies, and just recently vetoes a bunch of consumer-protection bills. What a crock of shit!!! The only thing he's good at is preening: getting plastic surgery, hair dye jobs, etc. to keep up the ol' image.

4. He's just getting warmed up to try to wrest political power away from Dems in CA--talk of redistricting and other shenanigans to pump up the 'pukes in California.

5. clearly, Ahnuld is a raging power-hungry egomaniac. What's left after being gov of CA? Only the White House. Truly scary.

can you tell that I am a disgusted Californian?
Thank you Dr. Freuds of DU for letting me vent.

12. Politically stupid
Since I'm not in California, I just told him it was politically stupid. He has a chance to be President, but not if he supports Bush. We won't forget who stumped for the Chimp, McCain has sunk himself already. Arnold, don't join him.

(Not that I'd ever vote for Arnold anyway)
