IAMS answers my Sinclair letter
Dear Concerned Consumer:

Thanks for contacting us about Sinclair Broadcast Group's plans to air "Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal."

We haven't reviewed the content of this program, nor would we advertise in it. One of our guiding principles is that we don't advertise in programs where there is expression for or against a given political candidate.

The way we spend our advertising dollar is important to us. For most TV programming, we're able to review the content on a show by show basis before making any advertising decisions. You may see some of our commercials air on the Sinclair Broadcast Group's network during shows that we've already agreed to appear in. The networks also have control over TV programming and can choose to preempt regularly scheduled programming with different programs, such as this one.

We appreciate your comments and I'm sharing them with those responsible for television sponsorship.

Sincerely,
Tina
Iams Consumer Care, North America

4. Be careful
THere are those here who will sick PETA on you. Apparently Iams dog food is the spawn of Satan.

I feed my dog Iams too, which I guess makes me a bad pet owner b/c I can't afford designer dog food at $50 a bag or case.

6. What the heck is wrong with Iams?
Not that I feed it to our animals. Iams gives my dogs flaming (and I mean F-LAM-ING) gas. We buy ProPlan and use the extra coupons to buy cat food for our kitty.

7. Or you can feed them table scraps...
It's not their main staple, mind you, but they get bites from just about everything we eat: bread, pizza crust, veggies, fruit (they love grapes), meat, chicken, fish. Even the occasional bite of doughnuts and a few laps of vanilla soft cone.

All our dogs thrive on this varied diet as an adjunct to whatever decent commercial dog food we can buy with coupons.

9. The issue with Iams O/T
Edited on Wed Oct-20-04 04:54 PM by popstalin
The issue PETA has with Iams is that they conduct horrible, horrible tests on cats and dogs, that are not necessary nor required by law, to tell you whether or not their food is nutritional. Now, if everyone you speak to says that Iams is the best, why do they need to continue these tests? This is the issue PETA has with Iams.

I find it funny that someone would be so critical of an organization who's sole purpose is to speak out for living beings who can't speak out for themselves. I would imagine PETA would not consider anyone a bad pet owner because they feed their animals Iams. It seems the issue PETA has is the unneccessary testing of animals.
