October 20, 2004
Dear Mr. President:
It is the desire and intention of many of the people gathered here, sheltered within the tunnels of the internets, to fire you from your eminent post. You have demonstrated neither the aptitude, nor wisdom, nor integrity necessary to fulfill the requirements of your duties throughout the past four years.
We want to present you with your walking papers on November 2nd, 2004. We believe we will do so. We are voting even as this letter is being composed. We want to help you to understand why we choose John Kerry to be our next President.
John Kerry is a good man who has demonstrated strength of character, bravery and integrity throughout his long war. I met him here within these rooms on the internets.
http://www.kerrysupport.com/upriver/I don’t recommend that you visit this site. The movie is lengthy, and you will be startled as you recognize your own inadequacies. Life has prepared him well for the demands of the office in these frightening times. John Kerry is eminently qualified for this position.
And you have failed us.We are outraged at your blatant disregard for the civil rights of citizens of foreign nations and citizens of the United States of America. Our rights in this country have been seriously eroded under your administration. You seek to edit the Constitution of the United States of American to curtail liberty and the pursuit of happiness for a targeted group of citizens. You have disregarded the Geneva Convention in refusing to classify detainees as Prisoners of War. You blinked rapidly when the inhuman policies at Abu Ghraib were reported.
In the arena of human rights, Mr. President, you have failed us.Listen in here for a while, Mr. President. You will meet the wives of soldiers in combat. They are terrified because they are alone, and because of the economic hardship your war has imposed upon them and upon their children. You will meet the mothers and fathers of soldiers who seek comfort here. They pray without ceasing for their child’s safe return.
In protecting the security and safety of the citizens of our planet, Mr. President, you have failed us.You will meet highly-educated professionals here who are out of work due to the exportation of jobs. They are genuinely puzzled when you tell them to battle their current unemployment through education. The question echoes here, how much additional education is required beyond a Ph.D.?
In creating a thriving and growing economy, Mr. President, you have failed us.You will meet young adolescents (I surmise they are young,) as well. They have learned their political language from you and your pundits. Mostly these folks spew hatred. It’s possible they listen to Michael Savage too much.
In uniting the citizens of our nation toward a common purpose, Mr. President, you have failed us.You will meet veterans of this unholy war who you have harmed. You will meet widows of dead soldiers. You will meet parents bereft of their children. These are people who know that you have murdered. You have blood on your hands, Mr. President.
In the arena of promoting and protecting World Peace, Mr. President, you have failed us.Within these rooms, you will meet the citizens who you are sworn to serve, and who have had their fill of your failed policies.
We invite you to listen in here, to understand why
