Why are conservatives so ignorant?
* They think the Constitution is a weapon.
* They think two people who love one another shouldn't have the right to wed.
* They think the success of their marriage is based on what other people do.
* They (poor white trash - The bush base) think that giving tax breaks to millionaires is good for them.
* They think being injured in combat is unpatriotic but deserting your military unit to avoid a drug test is heroic.
* They think the government should just butt out and let bush supporting industries pollute the air, poison the water and manufacture unsafe products.
* They say they value life but support a man who is getting our kids slaughtered and mutilated by the thousands for his own personal and political benefit (He knows his base.)
* They think ann coulter is a female and believe rush limbaugh is an excellent role model.

Please, would one of you knuckledragging, inbred, flag waving, non troop supporting, American hating white trash motherfuckers tell this veteran why he served 24 years so you could have the right to be a dumbass and be a burden on our country? It really does suck being you, but you are so ignorant you don't know it.

1. Why does Arnie jerk off?
Because they've got nothing upstairs (or down).

2. Could you go to the Current Events & Politics
part of the following message board and let the people there know how you feel? It is about 3:1 right wingers and many of them were/are in the military. It would be great to have an ex-military guy over there to set the record straight:

4. Looking at it another way...
Although I can see that your question is rhetorical, I'd suggest another way of looking at it that could be useful:

"What is it about being ignorant that tends to make people conservative?"

The distinction being one of cause and effect. And it kinda does make sense: those who don't have much exposure to other ways of thinking, other ways of living, other political systems, other races, other languages, etc., might naturally cling to an imagined golden age of Andy Griffith America, where (according to the myth) everything was peaceful, everything was pure, there were no foreigners, everyone spoke english, the USA did no wrong, and so on.

6. It's easier than thinking.

Blind faith is just so much easier.

Edit: being a Republican is also an excuse to be a bigot and to have no social conscience. Look at Jesse Helms, Strom Thurmond, et al.
