Kerry leads Bush by 4 - NJ Quinnipiac Poll LV's
October 19, 2004 - Kerry Has 4-Point Lead In New Jersey, Quinnipiac University Poll Finds; Democrat Matches Bush On Vision, But Not Leadership
Democratic challenger John Kerry holds a narrow 49 - 45 percent lead over President George W. Bush among New Jersey likely voters, with 1 percent for independent candidate Ralph Nader, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

This compares to a 49 - 46 percent Kerry lead among likely voters, with 2 percent for Nader, in an October 6 poll by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University.

Among registered voters backing President Bush, 82 percent say they are voting more for the President. Among Kerry supporters, 43 percent say they are voting more for the Democrat while 51 percent say they are voting more against Bush.

2. Internal polls in NJ...
Show Kerry with a larger margin. Frankly, the national polls just ain't worth a bucket of warm piss. They are, along with the media, working to keep the perception of this election closer than it is. Why? Drama, which equals ratings. Besides, if the chimp gets re-installed, they might get Media Dereg II, the mere thought of which causes movement in their nether regions.

3. This is ok - Bush's number is important
Bush has bumped into a ceiling in New Jersy. Kerry has lost votes to undecided, but most of those will come back on election day. New Jersey will be 52-45 Kerry at the worst.

5. I think it's good news too.
If you look at the trends within the article, Kerry is starting to pull away from Bush versus the last few polls they did. It's pretty late in the game for anyone to suddenly decide to vote for Bush.

4. Their methodology is all wrong.
They have Kerry beating Bush by 12 points among indies roughly the same margin Gore won Indies by and they only have Kerry with a four point lead.
