Brad Pitt Helping Out At MU Homecoming For Kerry

Democracy for Missouri folks,
The election nears ...a lot is going on.
We are helping to organize the Kerry contingent at the MU Homecoming
Parade. Please come. Wear your Kerry shirts, or shirts in patriotic
colors and come on down to Conley Street in front of the Reynolds
Alumni
Center at 7:45/8:00 for the line up before the Parade. Dress
appropriately as this is a fairly long parade in the early chilly
morning. Look for the Kerry signs. If you have some Kerry banners or
signs bring them. Basically we will be a large group of folks walking
together. Any nurses or vets out there? There are now free Nurses for
Kerry and Vets for Kerry rally signs at HQ. We have been asked not to
wear DFA buttons, MoveOn stuff etc. The Campaign staff are very strong
on not having an appearance of cooperation with a 527 even though DfMO
is not a 500 anything. there will be sign making for the Parade at HQ
in
the 3 days leading up to the parade. Please come by and help out.
The other thing happening is the second free showing of Going Upriver
this Wednesday at 6:00 PM. This time, per Brad Pitt's request, it will
be at Jesse Hall. Mr Pitt, as well as the writer and the Producer/
Director of the Movie will be on hand for questions. This should be
really fun. Many of us saw this movie when it played at the Missouri
Theater...it is great. (Thank you Liz) The scene in which Kerry
testifies before the Senate Armed Services Committee is just amazing.
Also, watch for the appearance of the "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth"
leader, who was tagged 30 some years ago to go after John Kerry by none
other than Chuck Colson. (Didn't have anything on him then either!)
Lastly, if you want personal volunteer time this week to help get Kerry
elected, there is plenty of phone banking, data entry and doorknocking
going on thru your HQ. Another good thing to do would be to write a
nice
note to Hank Waters at the Columbia Tribune, who has come to his senses
and fully endorsed John Kerry. Endorsement letters to the Tribune for
publication (limited to less than 250 words) will cost you $25 . The KC
Star has also endorsed...things are moving!
Thanks. Lets all pull together. The polls show us neck and neck. The
Polls do not include the 150000 newly registered MO voters...most of
whom are Democrats. We can do this. We can send Geo. Bush back to
Crawford Texas.
