"Kerry & the Liberals in congress ready to take over your health care"
Edited on Sun Oct-17-04 04:22 PM by plastic_turkeys
"John Kerry and the Liberals in Congress want to nationalize health care in one of the most expensive multi-trillion dollar government programs ever. What does it mean more you? Rationing, long lines.....your doctor? Oh your doctor is in there somewhere but he doesn't have the final say about your health. The government does. That's why we can't elect John Kerry or those liberals."

New radio ad just heard on WBZ. (Boston radio, meant to reach into NH and scare everyone.) So Bush is co-opting the long lines and rationing of the flu vaccine and making it a campaign topic. MAN George W. Bush (who "approved" that message) are pulling out all the stops!

Countries with government health care are getting flu shots. We're getting excuses.

16. My thought too!
Edited on Sun Oct-17-04 05:12 PM by sr_pacifica
I read this in an NYT article:

"The government cannot force companies to make vaccines, however."

and thought---That's the problem!---laissez-faire in health care does not work.

5. Well then I guess he and every GOP
congressperson will give their health plan up? I mean it's so bad why should they be burdened with it. Let's see if they do that.

15. HA! Right?
Funny how the chimp never mentions the great health care plan he and other congress critters receive from the Federal Government. It's good enough for us to pay for but we not good enough to receive the same. :argh:

Why did Chiron Flu Crisis Affect USA more than England?
http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/medicalnews.php?newsid=...

Why did the British never allow themselves to become dependent on just two flu major flu vaccine suppliers like the Americans did? According to health experts, they did this in case the current Chiron flu vaccine crisis happened - to make sure the nation's people were not left in a vulnerable position.

Last August UK officials, with the same information the US officials had, decided something had to be done in case the Chiron supplies, 14% of UK supplies, went belly up. The US officials decided to believe Chiron and gamble 48% of their supplies on an assurance that everything would turn out fine despite some worrying set backs.

When October 5th arrived, the British authorities pulled the plug on the Chiron, Liverpool, supplies. US authorities were caught out - nothing had been done in advance, the country had allowed itself to get into this situation.

Even without this crisis, the UK authorities have always had a situation where they can fall back on six or seven suppliers that have been pre-approved by UK authorities. The US, on the other hand, only has two - one of which has let them down. Had the US had more pre-approved suppliers, had the US started to do something about this problem last August when alarm bells were ringing, had the US…….? This is what many Americans are now starting to ask.

7. What stops?
These asshats have spewed garbage from the outset of this election season. They don't seem to have been the least bit hesitant to lie with autonomy. I've never seen anything like it in my lifetime. Horrendous.

11. Yes, I suppose they do have to create the occasional lull in the
absurdity to keep the fish on the hook. Shame that more people can't see what kind of people are running our executive branch of government...

12. Isn't the US
at the bottom of the list when it comes to health care for its citizens? Don't most Western Nations have better health care systems?

Compassionate Conservative is an oxymoron! Americans should be both outraged and embarrassed that we have a crisis like this. We have growing poverty and homelessness. We have more of our population incarcerated and are building more and more privatized prisons.

So much for healing he sick and feeding the poor. WWJD?

13. This should be an ad.
Shot of loooong lines at a clinic...one or two people collapsing during the wait...announcer intones "Health care in America...is this the nightmare vision of socialized medicine under Kerry that Republicans have long warned us about? No, this is a line for flu shots under George Bush."
