I am a Clark supporter, but I caught Edwards tonight in a town hall speech and question and answer period in Perry, IA.

What I thought, in a word - wow.

What did you think? You think he's making real headway, especially with the Des Moines, IA leading newspaper endorsing him? Or is this a temporary bump in his numbers?

1. Hey, TexasSissy, here's what some of us thought
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=108868&mesg_id=108868

Do you think it will affect his numbers?

I think if he had time to do this with every single Democrat in Iowa, there would be a huge bump, but the reality is, for every 1 who sees him there will be dozens who don't. So maybe a small bump.

5. There are zero (0) negative comments in that thread.
Zero! 60 posts and nothing negative at all. That's gotta be some sort of DU record.

7. I noticed that too...
It was refreshing for a change.

Too bad C-SPAN doesn't get the viewership levels it deserves sometimes.

2. WOW!
He's been "wow" the entire time he's been running. Finally, people and the media are noticing. The guy has a positive vision for this country.

3. Edwards is AMAZING. He is hitting his stride NOW.
He will beat the utter crap out of *.

I can't remember feeling such hope and optimism.

Not in a cultish way, you know.

8. Edwards is really good, but as I've said before
I think he would have been better served to

a) run for governor of NC

b) then run for president in either 2008 or 2012.

He's still a bit green. If he had some executive experience to go with his senate experience, his charm, intellegence, and wit, I think he would be unstoppable.

9. His time is now, as the kids are saying these days.
if he wins, it doesn't matter that he didn't do those things, no?

Edwards has the right message for TODAY. I don't think America can afford to have anyone else win.

10. I think he would have liked executive experience too...
...unfortunately, the sitting Democrat governor, Mike Easley, would not have appreciated a challenge from Edwards.

I suppose he was left with the only executive position available to him.

His time is now.
