1. Badly.
Check the Yahoo message boards (at the bottom of each article related to the story.) Overwhelmingly anti-Bush.

Also, check the amazon bestseller list. Three of the Top 100 spots are the Suskind book. :-)

2. I don't know but O'Neill's bit justifies Clark's 1st MTP statements...
regarding the headlong rush to war.

Too bad many were early to discredit Clark. Now he is proven
correct.

3. Bush committed an impeachable offense!
Bush planned for a war of aggression against Iraq since before the day he took the oath of office. Bush lied to the nation and the world. Bush conspired with others to lie to the nation and the world. Bush lied to Congress on the State of the Union Address.

Bush is now trying to use security as a pretext to suppress from the public documents bearing on his guilt.

Bush committed an impeachable offense, and Democrats should file for Articles of Impeachment!

4. My wife's parents can't stop talking about it
They rarely talk about politics with us, but this is big news to them and they want the truth to come out.

(My mother-in-law is a solid Democrat while my father-in-law has never voted anything but Republican for President --- They are both very unhappy with Bush)

6. My MIL doesn't like Bush, but she despises O'Neill
for writing the tell-all book. I think she's upset by disloyalty, even if it is for a higher purpose of letting the public know how corrupt the Regime is.

Some people will vote for * no matter what. If you confronted the Rethugs with proof that George drove stakes into hearts of babies, they'd just not show up at the polls. They wouldn't lift a finger to overthrow a corrupt Rethug junta.

7. I've heard the same...
He's getting branded as a Benedict Arnold (traitor), not Erin Brockovich (selfless whistleblower). Here's the reason: it doesn't sound like his criticisms are being made out of conscience, it's being made out of resentment. If it was a matter of conscience, people assume he would have resigned on principle- but he was pushed out. But since he's unhappy with his termination and the fact that Bush's new economic team did a better job than him, he's lashing out. This plays well to bring out the base vote. But so far the jury's out with average Americans...
