AP: Persuadable Voters Give Kerry High Marks
Persuadable Voters Give Kerry High Marks

Fri Oct 15, 3:02 AM ET

By WILL LESTER, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - Persuadable voters watching the presidential debates tended to give higher marks to Democrat John Kerry (news - web sites) than President Bush, but many sound reluctant to make a final decision in the presidential race.

"In the debates, Kerry's intelligence came through. He just seemed really thoughtful," said Mindy Kershner of San Francisco, who is still not ready to commit. "I probably won't decide until I actually vote."

edit ...

A CBS News poll of 211 persuadable voters after the debates found many liked what they heard from the Democrat. Asked who won the debate, 39 percent of the persuadable voters said Kerry, 25 percent said Bush and 36 percent said they tied. The number of voters who thought Kerry has clear positions on the issues, doubled after the debate to six in 10. Women were more likely than men in the CBS News poll to give Kerry high marks. The CBS poll had a margin of error of plus or minus 7 percentage points.

1. ok, so this woman says that Kerry's intelligence came through
and he was thoughtful, yet she isn't ready to commit? Is it a case that some of these undecided voters are weighing thoughtful, intelligent man vs. rash and stupid man and they can't quite decide who they want?

3. and what jumps out at me are these simple minded morons who
say things like Kerry did great and I disapprove of Bush's handling of frikin' everything and then gush "but I still don't know who I'll vote for"?? Don't vote--people without a mind should not be let near a voting booth. jesushchrist

4. oh, and another thing
I watched one of these focus groups and this women still wasn't decided because her big thing was desperately needing health insurance and she didn't hear enough about it. Well two things: 1) you saw that Kerry at least is tackeling the problem; what the fuck did you hear from Bush and 2) get off your fat ass and go to his website, etc. and read what his plan is-----and in her case it was obvious she was too lazy to get off of her very large ass and wanted it all fed to her.
