1. I think Salazar
can influence the Presidential race because he will bring a lot of extra hispanic voters out. I don't think Castor will have an impact on the presidential race.

3. Salazar is very likely to win here in Colorado
and we are hoping he will pull Kerry along. The cloud on the parade is an Amendment to split our electoral college vote proportionally.
If we elect Kerry and pass Amendment 36 B* will still get some EC votes.
If B* wins we have the opportunity to pull some EC votes away from him.
Quite a dilemma!
I am going to take a very close look at the polls on 10/01 before making a decision.

2. Senate races don't always deliver states.
I think of the two states you've mentioned, Florida is more likely than Colorodo to turn blue. After all, we DID win Florida last time.

A strong Democrat in a Senate or Governor race often won't really influence a state's presidential preferences. Here in Indiana, we have Evan Bayh (yes, he technically is a Democrat) kicking butt in his re-election bid, but Kerry will lose Indiana by about 15% (which, for a Dem nominee in Indiana, is pretty good). Likewise, the people of Pennsylvania continue their Danse Macabre with Arlen Specter, despite Kerry leading in all the polls there. (Can some PA DU'er explain WHY this idiot keeps getting re-elected??)
