Nader is just officially stupid.
He was whining on Letterman about the candidates not talking about certain issues like increasing the minimum wage, getting out of Iraq, and healthcare.

:wow:

I'm sorry, but he's either lying or not paying attention. WHAT THE FUCK does he think Kerry has been talking about for his whole campaign?!?

His mind has rotted with envy. Nader has always wanted to be the champion of the people, but throughout his life, John Kerry has been the one that comes through. Now John Kerry seems poised to become the President, and Nader is just jealous. Someone needs to cut out his tounge.

6. Not
I couldn't figure Nader out until the above poster. It's obvious, John Kerry actually has accomplished so much more than Ralph Nader. He's actually gotten legislation on the environment, women's rights, gay rights, minority programs, health care and other issues PASSED. Legislation that has really mattered. Contrary to what Bush says. Ralph's jealous, Kerry's going to be President, Kerry's going to take the lead on all of Ralph's issues, and Ralph's going to be an asterick.

10. Remember
to Nader women's right, gay rights, and probably minority related programs, are all "gonadal politics".

While Nader may have done some good things as a consumer advocate, I don't really believe he cared much about those other issues. Sure he gave lip service to thos issues when he ran, but his intention was unlikely to actually ever achieve anything...just to destroy the democratic party.

I don't know what he's accomplished over the last thirty years. He had potential, but blew it with his ego and arrogance.

11. Corporate pork,
Corporate welfare, corporate pollution, whatever, Kerry has actually led on all these issues and will continue to. Nader created PIRG, which was a pretty helpful group in Montana, they fought for the rights of people. Not so helpful in Oregon, they do some environmental stuff here and that's it. Then again, that's young people doing the work, not so much anything organized by a national headquarters that I've seen. So what's Ralph done, Consumer Reports? That seems pretty lame these days too. He's jealous.

13. I forgot about the PIRGs
Edited on Fri Oct-15-04 02:41 AM by fujiyama
I worked for one of those for a while. It seems like Nader really has nothing to do with them at this point. As you said the organizations vary from state to state...

Either way, his list of accomplishments within the last thirty years are quite thin. I see little reason to believe that even if he were a viable candidate, he'd make a good president.

18. That's cool
The PIRG in Montana worked on alot of low-income issues and you could always call them if you had a question and they'd help find answers. Then again, I lived right in Missoula where the office was. The one here is in Portland and they don't seem to be as connected to people's problems, or maybe they just know Portland assistance, I don't know. But I know they're dedicated young people, all of them, and believe in their causes. It's cool you worked with them.

3. Nader did some great things
but he's rolled back every accomplishment of his life in the past four years by his inability to make certain key distinctions.

20. No, Nader committed some great frauds.
He's been a self absorbed creep his whole life.

He's just not marketed as well as he used to be.

due to lack of interest in the facts. So, he looks and sounds like an uninformed fool.

7. In "Going Upriver" ...
there was a quote, from Nixon ... I think, likening a young Kerry to Nader. Kind of ironic.

15. Nader could be a hero at the last minute.

"I've thought it over, and four more years of the Bush disaster isn't going to do me, my supporters, my nation, my planet, or my species any fucking good whatsoever. I'm hereby asking all my supporters to vote for John F. Kerry-- just as I plan to"

Wooo Ralph! Saves the day! Hail Mary Pass! Touchdown at the last minute! You're a hero! We love you! Yaaaaaay! A grateful world bows its head in thanks!

Never happen. But, hey, Ralph- I'll personally buy you any kind of sandwich you want if it does.

22. Infamy
I feel for Nader (voted for him twice) but he's right around the corner from infamy if he doesn't step laboring to differentiate himself and pull out of this race soon...
